The Conference Committee has sent official language out - h.4885

Did anyone ever stop to ask the Commonwealth what problem they're trying to solve with all this nonsense? How many LTC holders commit violent crimes? How will any of this prevent criminals from doing what they've always done?

Disarming good people makes nobody safer.
It makes it much safer for the government.

Absolutely, we know this isn't going to make the state safer. The "law" they are making is malicious and designed to endanger residents in this state.

Not safer easier to control
I also would like to know if/when all the sub 21 year olds give up their semi autos who the state is selling them to ?

You know how this works.

They'd ignore 90% of the question and spend all their time talking about Ghost Guns, because that's what their polling indicates makes people scared.

The Leftists don't want people arrested, charged or convicted. They don't want prisons either. The fly in the ointment is criminals using guns. They won't deal with criminals using guns so they want ALL guns banned and removed from society. They have no use for law abiding citizens don't commit crimes with firearms argument.

Just like all laws, the only people they affect are the people that follow laws.

Criminals by definition do not follow laws so none of this shit bothers them..

Although lately it seems laws are being created to thwart what the 2A is actually for..

They are scared.

It's control and agenda motivations.

Nice to see this, but
Joke/Humor/Sarcasm. It's great that this got noticed but what has the NRA done this century besides line their pockets? I donate to GOAL and Comm2A. Let my NRA membership lapse years ago.
The NRA has been recently rebooted. Give it another chance. If the Maura Heaney approach goes national we’ll need them even more!

It’s frustrating. But what should they do?
For starters, stop trying to put ketchup on the shit sandwich. It’s a bullshit, unconstitutional law, and all ya’all should be protesting it heavily and harassing the f*** out of your elected officials.

Some douche career criminal named Floyd does a bunch of meth and heroin and dies resisting being put in the back of a cruiser and the country burns itself down for six f***ing months and cities like Portland and Seattle literally get taken over. What’s it take to get all of you to band together and say enough is enough and you’re not going to take the perpetual erosion of your God given rights any more?

I agree with everything you said up until resisting.. He was pretty complacent with that cops knee on the back of his neck.

It's not like its all not on video lol

Are you joining in or are you excused because you’re on the other side of an imaginary border?

And I still don’t see what you’re suggesting should be done? Say we’re not going to take it anymore? We said that. And we do harass our reps. Any other ideas? Those didn’t work.

To your point, I voted with my feet and got the f*** out of that shit state, but yeah, I’d be happy to travel to the PRM and join in the protest with ya’all. I’m not condoning violence or terrorism but just going to leave this here;

Question:
If someone moves from another state to Massachusetts, does the FRB have a list of those firearms if they were not registered in the previous state? Also, if you are pulled over by a police officer, can they see if you own firearms?
Even if they were known to the government of the previous state, there is no transfer of that knowledge.

Prior to this new law, if you moved to MA and brought your guns with you at the time of the move, you were under no legal obligation to "register" them with the state of MA.

I'm about 90% sure 4885 requires you to register all the guns in your possession. Even if you moved here 15 years ago with them.
I have been reading the law on my PC and remember seeing something to that effect.

I really need to print out all 100+ pages so that I can mark it up as I read.

What guns? Nobody who moves to Mass brings guns. They are all sold first or are stolen.

So is the next step for gun clubs to require proof of registration for any gun you bring to the range?

For those wondering about different bill versions. Check the document properties for the https://malegislature.gov/Bills/193/H4885.pdf file in your PDF reader program.
Currently, on my end, its showing the following dates:
Created: 7/17/2024, 7:04:00 PM
Modified: 7/17/2024, 8:17:00 PM

If you downloaded a version prior to 7/17 and or has document property created/modified dates earlier than 7/17 then it may be different than the current version.
I think we should all just download the latest version here:

Or better yet. Copy and paste the text from the ACTUAL LAW into a word doc, then PDF it.
I have not compared the two.

The NRA might rise again to be useful. But if they do, it won't be with my money. I didn't even get an invite to the BBQ at either of the Wayne LaPierre mansions.

We have to register them? Oh wait a minute, which guns?!!;)

Got a call from the NRA looking for a donation yesterday. I asked them if it’s to fight this new law. She said it’s to fight Govt overreach at the federal level. So basically that’s a no. Just hung up.

I read articles like that with a very critical eye. It's my upbringing. It was also my job. By comparison, my good wife could read it over and never spot the words and clues that give away the true message and politics of the writer. And yes, I am intimately familiar with WWLP.

In regard to the NRA wishing to get involved... the verdict is still out in my view. The NRA is a damaged organization that has a long road back to respectability and power. I'll have to hold off on my opinion regarding the NRA entering the MA anti-Constitutional gun law fray until I know more.
The NRA will piggyback on the good work of FPC and SAF and then take credit for it,

Oh, and I'll get 2 dozen pieces of mail reflecting that and wanting $$$
