Trail camera thread. Post ur trail camera photos.

Finally broke down and got a new cam, the Stealth cam Pro 360. I about crapped my pants when I went to put batteries in it, 16 AA's! Have any of you tried the newer lithium rechargeable batteries? The initial investment is a bit steep, but in the long run they seem to be the way to go.

a long extension cord would be cheaper. LOL

You can get a plastic ammo can for 10 bucks, a 12v battery for $30, and a solar panel with wiring kit for $40.

This is the route I went and have zero issues. Cameras are fairly deep in the woods with very little sky availability. If you’re using a cellular camera and don’t need to pull the cards frequently, you should entertain this option. Less headache, just more upfront expenses

re: Spypoint cameras update

My legacy Link Micro LTE cameras are still going. One had water intrusion, which was due to the door gasket getting folded back a bit. It's back in action.

I guess the Flex-M cameras are their new budget camera. I've got a few of them running now, all with a security box and LIT-22 lithium battery packs. I've noticed with the night multi-shots, the first pic is a bit out of focus, while the subsequent photo in a sequence is much sharper. I do like that the cameras have embedded GPS, which could help locate a camera if it were moved.

I've got two of the Flex-S solar cameras going as well. On one, I'm using a LIT-22 battery along with an auxiliary 5W solar panel. This is a camera I have 20' up in a tree, so I wanted to reduce the likelihood of having to change batteries. I'm not certain what the battery indicators are indicating but the camera has been up since October 6, and the solar battery indicator is at 100% and the battery at 98%. The camera is facing south but gets less than 3 hours of sunlight per day.

The other Flex-S camera is setup with an LIT-22 battery and a larger 10W solar panel. This camera I had configured to take pics on demand. THAT sucks up a bit of power. This spot gets filtered sunlight, and the camera is facing north. The battery level indicators have been fluctuating in the 45-55% range.

I was running Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries in a Flex-M camera, and it quit once the battery level dipped into the low 40s. I'm stocked up on the LIT-22 batteries and will swap them out as needed.

One thing I noticed with the Flex-S camera - it might take a few camera cycles for a change of settings to take. Making more than one change at a time seems to play a part in that.

Another thing about the newer cameras - the temperature indicator is much more accurate.

I just picked up a couple of the Flex-M cameras for a 50% off at Expert Voice.
Put them out last week and so far so good. Pics aren't too bad for a $35 camera and a 0$/Month subscription.
I don't think they have any kind of GPS enabled in them though.
I have to grab a couple of those battery packs though...... these may become my new public land cameras.

Wrt GPS, if you're using the spypoint app, list the cameras and then click on the status for a camera.

Holy crap... you learn something new everyday.
When I first put the camera's out.. that map was blank.
Must have took a few transmissions for it to send out the GPS data..

This FedEx truck alerted the dog and got me out of bed at at almost 11pm!

Went to condition orange as this seems like a very unusual delivery time to me.

They did leave a package that I was expecting.

Same thing happened to me with an Amazon package at 4:30am.

My camera reported someone on the porch at the front door at 4:30am. Sure got my attention
