Ah....no.Are you turkey hunting with 44 mag semi wad cutter
Low quality garbage. Give the gift that keeps on giving and learn how to cast like a real mom
Bass Pro in NH had CCI and Win on the shelf this week @ $89.99Not sure if it’s been said lately, but Cabela’s has a good amount of primers in stock, SPP, LPP, SRP, and they had a box of magnum LRPs left,
I did that a couple weeks ago with 5.56. Some crap brass that the rim ripped off. Good times.Sized a couple of hundred Lee TL309-230
Started setting up a press for 300AAC
Got the dies all installed and started adjusting the expander die.
And stuck a case in my RCBS small base sizer.
Then proceeded to snap off the decapping pin.
But my custom expander works perfectly
What's worse is I grabbed a reject case out of the scrap bin that didn't gauge after forming.I did that a couple weeks ago with 5.56. Some crap brass that the rim ripped off. Good times.
I’ll admit to my idiocy and one up you. What's worse is I grabbed a reject case out of the scrap bin that didn't gauge after forming.
Knew I would be resizing the neck a few times to get the expander set so using a scrap case sounded like a good idea.
So a crappy 5.56 got me also
I found out that you can't retract the expander stem far enough in a 300AAC die to use a stuck case removerI’ll admit to my idiocy and one up you.
I did it again with another piece of the same brand junk a few days later.
Then when preparing to use my improvised stick case remover I snapped the tap off inside the case.
That’s what lead to my using the decapping pin as a punch to drive the case out.
Good times.
I just got in a delivery of RCBS decapping pins if you need any. 5 packs were like $2 a pop.I found out that you can't retract the expander stem far enough in a 300AAC die to use a stuck case remover
So I had to use the expander to push the case out
Breaking of the pin came after all the hard parts were done and I simply had to cut the case. Wasn't being careful and put a good side load on the stem - those pins are glass hard.
We need to meet upI just got in a delivery of RCBS decapping pins if you need any. 5 packs were like $2 a pop.
Also I have a lee thermostat and heating coil for you. They were blowing them out on midway so they cost me next to nothing.
Happy early (or late) birthday.
Awesome. You should shoot the steel challenge match next Sunday at Copicut. We need to meet up
I have the expander(s) to get to you
I may make a few of various calibers for the seminar.
Those are an absolute blast but Sundays are church days - I only skip a couple per yearAwesome. You should shoot the steel challenge match next Sunday at Copicut.
I did it with 308 plate before i invented my lubricant adapter. In today’s episode of “How the eff did that happen?”: I broke a piece off the shell plate on my Dillon 650. Luckily I have enough ammo for Sunday’s match, but will need a new one by early next week.
Nice. I converted so much 5.56 to blackout at one point. It was a chore.Loading some 300AAC subsonic
Lee TL309-230-5R coated
Accurate 11FS
Did it on the Six Pack Pro but the cases were already prepped and primed so not all of the stations were used
1 - empty
2 - expander/prime
3 - powder drop
4 - bullet drop
5 - seat
6 - crimp
Only did 60 but ended up with 53 because shitty Chinese CJ8 headstamp brass is too thick to gauge with cast.
I need to form a lot more brass or stop being cheap and just buy 1k.
I just submitted a service request.Dillon replaced it, btw, but it took some time.

#5 plate for 9mm. If you have one you could loan me that would be awesome! What caliber do you need I probably have a spare you can use until Dillon comes through ?

Working on some 357 mag this morning. Had to switch my rcbs turret from large primer to small. Shot the spring across the basement in the process. Fml. Had a brainstorm......ball point pen sitting on my bench. Pulled it apart.....had to cut about 1/3 of the length off the spring with a pair of wire cutters. Works perfectly. View attachment 754824
So if you have an rcbs and lose the spring you basically have an endless supply of them if you have some pilot g2 pens hanging around. Next trip to Walmart I'll buy a pack of them
