What did you do in the reloading room recently?

Generally speaking, I think most people don't get into reloading to necessarily save money over factory ammo, especially just for plinking, but more so that they can tailor ammo to their needs or particular firearm.

With that being said, I started acquiring my reloading components around 2019, just prior to the insanity. Good thing I did, as when people couldn't get ammo to hit the range, I had pretty much an unlimited supply for the near future as well as the components to make more for even further out.

I stocked up and stacked whatever I could get my hands on prior to rape prices on primers, powders and other components. If prices on factory ammo are that low now, you should probably stock up while you can, but I would be stocking up more on components so you have them. If ammo prices go sideways again, so too will the price of components, if you can even get them.

Take advantage now while most likely the majority of people who overpaid or went without get comfortable with what little they have again.

I've bought blemished before with zero issues. Looking forward to trying the pulled.
I’ve loaded a bunch of their 223 bullets and a bunch of their premium JHP for 9mm. They look more like blems than pulled. You can’t beat getting that many HSTs for the price.

I definitely haven't been paying attention. I didn't know HSTs were available as bullets. Just looked, they're out of those in 9mm, but there's a sale on everything they have in stock. Lots of cool/weird options for 9mm, 38/357, 223.

The gold dots are great and so are the v crowns. Just encase they have those available.

Oh no, they have 500 packs of jacketed hollow points for 357. I might need to show up at my club's steel match with these loaded up with 2400 and a 6" blued S&W. Everyone's running Glock and CZ 9mms with red dots. I'll be the slowest, but the loudest. :)

Also, 64 grain JSPs for 223. Power Shock pull downs? Those sound like they might be fun for banging steel from an AR.

Thanks for pointing me at those guys. Shipping included... seems hard to believe for the prices.

Did a little shooting and loading for the 1911 but not the one you think. I'm talking about the Swiss model 1911 straight pull bolt action rifle. It came right before the K31 and I'm guessing most have never shot one. It's built like you'd expect anything Swiss to be made. It's the most accurate military rifle I've ever shot and has a trigger that breaks cleanly at just under 3 pounds. The caliber is 7.5x55 and it isn't fussy about bullet weight or powder. It's easy to load for cause it seems to like everything.

@5 DOLLAR FOOT LONG did this at a Harvard SC match a number of years ago. Except he was running one of those 8 shot TRR8? S&W’s if I recall 😂
Though he didn’t shoot the whole match with 357.

IIRC one time I did one round of smoke&hope with 357 and the judge guy went “what the hell was that”
I would probably offer him the opportunity to double up on earpro first.:)

I hadn't shot steel in so long, when I went a couple weeks ago, my first stage was smoke & hope, and I shot it left to right and shot the stop target third...

Went to the club to help out with the monthly cleanup / maintenance day. I had a backpack leaf blower, a few others did as well. After clearing leaves and pine needles from all the ranges, parking areas, and the access road, I was walking past a falling plate rack and gave it a go. I have to get pretty close, but I can clear the rack in about a second...

After we got done laughing, one of the guys pointed out I have a fully automatic high capacity assault rake and I'm not allowed to bring it to steel challenge.

Quick 25 lbs of casting since I couldn't do much in the rain.
How do you like the shotgun slugs? I load 12 gauge, but so far have only loaded birdshot rounds for clay games.

I've started picking up a little lead from the backstop and have a few pounds collected, but am a ways away from actually smelting and casting.

Honestly I haven't even shot any of the slugs - that's on me
However one of the people at the Casting Seminar cast a bunch and posted some targets showing great accuracy. At 500 grains there isn't much of a question about stopping power...

Seminar is done for this year but you're welcome to stop by and cast up a few.
