What did you do to your firearm today.

Installed my new swiss clamp on scope mount for my K31 rifle. Put on a 3-9x40 scope. Can't wait to sight it in.

I piled up my ARs and try to figure out what I could get for them and decide on what to buy next.
Really has nothing to do with the BS here in MA but more about my shooting needs.

uploadfromtaptalk1469370794662.jpg added a Wilson BP extended mag release and had to fit it to stop it from binding mags when fully depressed. Removed some metal, polished and cold blued.

Shot some Aluminum CCi 230 grain .45 today. My XDM really liked it , I shot really well with it.
might have to keep an eye out for some bargains on this stuff now :)

Made a few errors with the cerekote. I've removed the sight 3 times with a punch, shattered my front this time, punch slipped, broke down and waiting for the $$ sight pusher.

Just cleaned a Colt M1911a1 that's been in the family since 1942. First time it's been totally stripped down in about 40 years. Talk about gross!

I finished work at 1:30 today and wife and Daughter when to the beach early so I was home alone and figured pull every Firearm (Rifles and Handguns)out of the safes and check for rusting and figured give them all a quick CLP bath, Not a single hint of rust at all which is great to see especially in this heat. I use this------> dehim.jpg ..I plug it in every month for 24 hours to dry out and so far they seem to work great, I have had them for a few years. I ordered a few for the family members so keep watching out in the Karma section as when they come in i'll Karma one off.

I run the same ones. Got two of them in the safe, one up high and the other low. They work great.

Finally picked up my new shooting prescription glasses today that Idoktr prescribed. Got home and used the laser trainer in the carry and checked how they worked with the red & green dot sights on the MFourgery. Idoktr did a great job!

Managed to sneak away for a little while earlier and try out my new/first build. She was great! I didnt have to adjust anything, even the gas block seemed to be pretty dead on, however I wouldnt know if it was off. Tried some Winchester 55gr, Federal XM193, Aguila 55gr and Aguila 62 gr. The 62gr seemed to be the best ones with my 20" 1:8 barrel, going to try some 69 and 77s soon. Only one hiccup feeding a single round, got jammed up under the bolt slightly but other than that it was perfect. I will say the Magpul MOE handguard got pretty damn hot though!

Put a second coat of action bedding on my CZ 527. First application didn't fully surround the front recoil lug. Hope to hit the range this weekend and test everything out.

Had everything I needed for the whole job at home!

JB Weld for bedding, Clear shoe polish for release compound, and plumbers putty for dams.

10/22 Mag Coupler - Tandemkross "Double Kross"

Was looking for some mag couplers for my 10/22. Researched the Alangator TriMag and High Tower Armory couplers but in the end went with a local company in NH, Tandemkross. "Double Kross" Double 10/22 Magazine Body, real happy with the product, easy assembly and better than some other solutions that require epoxy or clamps: https://www.tandemkross.com/Double-...or-the-Ruger-1022-Rotary-Magazines_p_226.html

Bought a heated ultrasonic cleaner with a 12"x6"x8" tank and stripped and cleaned the whole damn collection. Thank goodness for the Brownell and other YouTube videos.

verified they all go bang and checked the zero's on the rifles. That was my summer project goal.

Replaced the Plastic Guide rod assembly in my SR22 with a stainless steel one from Galloway precision.
going to try it tonight. Slide feels like it's got a little more "zip" to it now when I rack it.

Was looking for some mag couplers for my 10/22. Researched the Alangator TriMag and High Tower Armory couplers ...

I picked up 2 of the HTA couplers, and 1 TK Double-Kross awhile ago. I've had a tri-mag for about 2 years. To be honest, I think the HTA coupler is the easiest (just screw 2 mags on) and less bulkier than the tri-mag. Plus, the HTA allows for a slight brace for your hand up against the front of the stack whereas the tri-mag is not as "in-line" arm friendly. The TK is nice, but involves taking the mags apart to finish the unit. No biggie, but for some novice shooters, may be an item of note if they've never done a Ruger 10/22 mag before.

I've purchased much add-ons from TK up in NH and like them alot. So with either roduct you cant go wrong.
