What did you do to your firearm today.

Changed the bolt catch on two AR lowers. Removed the trigger assembly on one of them as well and smoothed it out a little...going to have to do a little more work to it though (this one is really gritty for some reason). I may actually replace it entirely if I can't get it the way I want it. I can deal with creep and a longer heavier pull...what I hate is gritty.

Put a S&W 2214 in 60 day plan.
Picked up my new to me toy... 2214 made in Houlton, Maine. It was a lot cleaner than I remembered. Very light wear on the alloy frame, bluing on the slide is flawless. Magazines have a light patina.

Screws on the grip panels were quite difficult to break free. Very little wear internally, little to speak of crud build up. Two of the three side plate screws were loose under the left grip. Wall anchors cycled reliably and the firing pin left a strong imprint after dropping the hammer.

Next up? A trip to the range of course...
Oh, yes it does fit my factory made LCP holsters, but not my custom.

got a storm Lake .40 to 9mm conversion barrel for my M&P fs .40.
I have a couple of 9MM mags incoming as well.
I can't wait to get to the range and try this out :)

Yesterday was an awesome day to be at the range! I had range duty so my Wife and I shot at BR&P after I was done RO'g. She looks at the almost full box of 550 rds .22LR and says we'll be done when I finish the box! [thumbsup]

My Wife was shooting the Ruger 10/22.

I love my Wife! [smile]

I shot about 100 rds of .22LR in my Ruger SR22 and then another 100 rds of 9mm in my VP9. Good time.

yes it was , I shot 100 rounds of 9mm and 50 of .40 yesterday in Sharon. Once again I was the only one out there.
the place is starting to feel like my own private range :)

Shot it.

Got an hour or so in with the Model 36. Punching out X rings at seven yards with wadcutters is fun... Hitting an absolute pinwheel with someone elses' gun is more fun! (Ever fire a CZ 75? I got it just before the 98 foolishness began."

Pinwheel, ten ring, nine ring. With someone elses' gun. First time I've fired a CZ. [smile]

Good afternoon to clean n' oil a bit: Browning BLR Model 81 .308, Colt Pre-Woodsman
Wipe down a few in the safe rack: Colt Army Special, Ruger Old Army, Dan Wesson .22 and then pack the bag for a trip to the range tomorrow morn, too.

Went to the sand pit today. Ran about 400 rounds through the M&P9c. Heading back tomorrow because I changed back to the irons on the SKS. Vacation from work is fun! [emoji16]

Cleaned the A3 a few days ago now waiting on a new front sight blade. Next up for cleaning is the K31 followed by the Shield then the Dan Wesson PM9. Haven't been cleaned in 500+ rounds ago.

Been dusting off the 22s
Most recent was the remington 513... have had some problems recently. Fixed the mag issue. Which turned out to be a cracked magazine release/retainer. Also Message_1464885511901.jpg found a new factory mag. Also found that after 50 plus years the action has compressed into the wood enough that the bolt was hitting the wood and not always fully locking and causing misfires.
Today I got to test fire 2 mags for a total of 12 rounds. I didn't do my math right and didn't adjust elevation correctly from my 200 yard zero for 100 yards. Shooting with USGI sling off the bench I must have had stars aligned and a horseshoe up me arse.......I will most likely never shoot like this again with iron sights and a 22lr.
As usually with me though great group wrong area of the target

Last night I added a CMC drop in trigger and KNS pins to my M&P 15-22. Swapped out the cheap A2 grip for a leftover Spikes Grip. Next is swapping out the stock for a Magpul MOE.

Sprayed with what?

Aervoe Field Drab

Tore the rifle down, cleaned the receivers, rail, and stock with acetone. Warmed them in the oven at 175 for about 10min, hung them up, sprayed each with 3 thin coats, then baked in the oven for 4 hours at 175. Reassembled shortly after -- it came out of the oven fully cured.

I slammed my knee into it crawling into bed last night. Took GF shooting yesterday, got home we cleaned the AR, told her to put it away before she went to bed.
I jump into bed later and to my surprise she is spooning with my AR[shocked]
She is a keeper!! even if she cheats on me with my gun![rofl]
