Applied the last coat of tung oil last night, 4 total, and it got them mounted up today. Much better then the cosmoline soaked mess they were before.

Gotta be comfy! And no gun pic is complete without feet.I like your rifle and I love your gunsmithing slippers.
That’s a cool looking setupAdded a Surefire Dual Fuel Turbo, DS00 tail cap, unity hot button, kac finger stop. Still waiting for an optic
Picked up a P210 Target and threw on some standard hogue grips to replace the target grips.
The action was smooth, but not smooth enough. So I lapped the rails up to 1200 grit, but will go up higher when I get in some more higher grit.
In the meantime, I sliced my finger on the safety when racking it outside in the cold. The factory safety design sucks. It’s narrow, but protrudes well north of the frame, right into where you grasp to charge it. So, I reshaped the safety. Trimmed it down, rounded the front, and contoured the side so it wasn’t as abrupt up front. You still know it’s there when racking the slide, but it doesn’t hurt now.
I also used a 280 grit wheel to finish it, creating a brushed effect. I started this thinking that I’d have it cerakoted to match the Sig nitron finish, but I’m actually kind of liking the raw steel. It’s like an homage to the old P210s that had raw stainless triggers, slide catches, and hammers.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with how it came out. What are your thoughts, keep it raw or get a finish/coating on it?

And for reference for the original safety lever:

I got a 92fs from my dad as well. Swapped to walnut grips and he loved it.Sometimes It’s the little things
This was my Dads Beretta, we lost him a little over a year ago.
This gun is extremely hard for me to manipulate my hands aren’t that big and I’m a lefty, but I’ll never sell it.
So I gussied it up with some nice walnut grips, my dad always loved Walnut rifle stocks
I plan to modify the safety to a decocker only to make it more familiar to me (like my daily carry)
Added a side charging unit to my AR10
If you look at the knock off unity picture, you can see the setup on my 5.56.I didn’t know that was a thing
Very nice
Tell me more
No pics?!I may or may not have added a warhorse to my WWI / WWII collection.
BeautifulI need to take some good ones. This came from the seller. 1918 US Army marked correct 1911.
