What Happens when a state house loses its soul

It's been a long time since the last revolt. 1981? 82? Prop 2 1/2 was the last time we stood up en masse and revolted. I don't think anyone in elected power today on Bacon Hill was out of HS at that time. If so, it's a miniscule minority.

You can't count that voter-initiative to cut the income tax that was promptly reversed by the legislature. Because no one did anything about it. Everyone got re-elected.

Maybe the woke snap-back will get us another revolt. Probably not. Too many just don't care.

It's not just carelessness, it's cowardice as well.

The truly sad thing is, in my work circle (aka looney left in Boston and Cambridge) they think MA government works just fine...it's exemplary according to some. When they have public failures that come out they think "Well that happens everywhere". They like the government, government is their friend and always has their best interest at heart. Many of these a-hole still leave the office wearing masks. They like it when government makes it harder to get guns, or when they shutdown businesses and schools for the public good. This is how they think. It's truly mind blowing

Ask them to name a worse subway system anywhere in the world.

small potatoes in their mind. The important thing is we finally have an lesbian woman in office who protects undocumented migrants, abortion on demand, big unions, and new laws about anything and everything...especially those icky guns. They really believe things are just swell. It's nauseating

Maybe because a lot of them don't pay taxes and as long as the government keeps that EBT card topped off they are content.

Nah. People aren't afraid. They are apathetic or think they are the "only ones." Look at the woke movement. Your typical mASS "independent" is thinking, "Damn, I don't want some 250# linebacker in a dress in my little girl's locker room. . . . but. . . . no one else is making a stink." That era is coming to a close - so maybe we're close to Bacon Hill getting theirs, and but good!

Everyone's a fascist as long as they agree.

in mASS? Nah. The taxpayers pay a S-load of taxes. They would be enough to tip the scales should they bother.

thinking you're the only one, and thus not standing up, is what he's calling cowardice.
