So, when calling out the guys in my entry team, I need to start calling them by their optic/sight? LPVO, Red Dot, Iron sight, gangster pistol sight guy.... lol Unless LPVO has another meaning (but since that's what the first cop that shot had).

I've had ruder nicknames at work.

I think his brain shortcut "shots can be at range here, get someone with an optic, bob has an optic on his rifle" to "lpvo go go". Which, fair.

Where I teach, the entire department comes into the schools twice a year for drills which, presumably, are just like what that footage shows. That's the entire department, even the auxiliaries.

The modern protocol is that ANYONE with a badge moves out and gets it done. And that's the thing: they usually do. MOST school shootings end relatively quickly because the responding officers go in and earn their pay.

That's what made Uvalde so mind-numbing.

I have to say the contrast between this and the cuck shitstain faglaroid coward PD in Uvalde is massive. They go in, they smoke the BG. they immediately make footage available for transparency purposes. no bullshit. no multi hour drama responding to the incident, just go in and stop the problem.

I see you are from NH. Teachers in in the DPRM get considerably more than 40K for their nine months, plus defined benefit pension and a medical subsidy until Medicare kicks in.

Teachers get paid supplements for all sorts of extra work - the soccer coach of chess club advisor gets paid for that extra duty. Just pay the same a sports coach or club advisor for the time put in (training, etc.) and make it voluntary.

If you want to know then go be educated by a teacher how the pay scale works

Younger teachers are routinely passed over around the 3 year mark to avoid giving them tenure

And while it is true that some teachers can make a very good living they have to take so many prof dev courses its years on years of training and license bullshit to get there

Yes mass starts above 40 but its hyperbolic and average teacher salary is weighted by heavily specialized teachers

Also dont forget like 3% goes to that union dues

I know more about teaching than i ever cared to and probably could successfully run a classroom for a month because teachers work all the effing time and I've helped my wife build more lesson plans than i can count.

I refused to send my kids to public school so I dropped the cash for private.
I also took the hit for my wife to leave a lucrative job and go back to school for education so summers would be taken care of.
When we felt the private school wasn't serving our children, we took another hit to home school.
Home schooling came right after buying our dream home.
Our children were our #1 priority so we sacrificed lesser wants to put them in the best position we could.

Unless you are a single parent, I call BS on not being able to get your kids out of bad schools.
If more people took responsibility for providing a safe and effective education for their children the blue haired freaks wouldn't be able to take over the education system and public schools would produce world class educational opportunities. But it's the culture to push off parenting to the system because that's the way it's been for 100 years.

Having just been through an Active Shooter drill with Nashua PD at Pheasant Lane Mall this past Sunday evening, I can say that’s how they trained. In the drill, the 1st responding unit entered quickly but with less urgency, with pistols only, as it wasn’t a shooting event yet. They didn’t find us - Mall Security took them the perp’s 1st floor route via comms to the video cam room rather than to the current scene on the 2nd floor. The next unit responded with rifles and moved hard and fast. Of course, there were PD trainers/observers and the responding teams were being judged & graded, so they had to go hard and fast.

All they can do is plan to fight like they train. Run toward the gunfire is a great response plan but people gotta be getting shot to guide them in. It’s that body count in the first minutes that is hard to control without armed and determined security on site.

They did exactly what is supposed to be done. Clear room to room unless you hear shots to guide you. As soon as the shooting starts they headed straight to it while covering the doors on the way. The training set that University of Texas developed that is taught in road show format by the FBI is excellent. It's made response to these events a more standardized practice. I wish more departments would get on board with it.
