3/27/23 Nashville School Shooting

Uhuh... and you think private schools hire only right leaning people?

Because my wife taught at 3 and I've met about a hundred private school teachers

You'd be wrong
Did you read what I wrote?
Why did you think I pulled my kids even when my wife was a teacher at the school?

I used "blue haired freaks" given the current issue at hand but it applies to anyone that you as a parent feel is detrimental to your child's best interests regardless of background

I have a feeling that he was completely confident that a previous shot's placement prevented a response from the POS

In that last storm, a hot wire came off the poles and was laying in the street in front of my house. When the power was restored after three days, the wire was still on the ground. Couple days later the snow and ice is melted enough I could see the wire STILL on the ground. "Our" tap was just before the break so we had power, but everyone further up the road was still out. I flagged down an Eversource truck and even though the line was dead, he used a non metallic pole to hook the wire and drag it off the road. If he picked up that wire and just then another crew made some repair a mile away, he's toast. He'll retire, I bet, eventually. Some others that aren't as careful might not.

NEVER change your practices because it "must" be safe now.

Putting red flag laws aside. This is much more than a red flag... 5 year history, constantly threatening suicide.... I just can't get over this.... everything in this scenario is just wrong.. if you are on psychological medication and have serious psychological issues , you hate yourself and don't know if you are a girl or a boy.... who sold this person a gun? Jesus!!!!
100% of Trans people have a mental illness. I thought that people with mental illness couldn't get firearms. How TF did this happen? So sad !!!

If you threaten to killyourself year after year for 5 years... then someone sells you a gun? System is broken.
You can’t support gun rights out of one side of your mouth and then spout that certain people who you don’t like shouldn’t own firearms out the other. The beauty about the constitution is that it applies to everyone, including those we disagree with. Do I think trans people are very confused and have some psychological issues going on? Yes I do, but they’re not fundamentally bad people. Although, I don’t agree with a lot of the crap they push. We can’t write off a group of people just because of their legal preferences.

They did exactly what is supposed to be done. Clear room to room unless you hear shots to guide you. As soon as the shooting starts they headed straight to it while covering the doors on the way. The training set that University of Texas developed that is taught in road show format by the FBI is excellent. It's made response to these events a more standardized practice. I wish more departments would get on board with it.
It’s been standardized across the country for years. You can teach all day but you can’t make people learn, or even remember their own names under high stress. Then you’re still hamstrung by lack of support and authorized training time by the admin’s who don’t want to pay for it to be done properly.

Upstairs mentality is there’s a very small chance it will happen here so I’m not wasting anymore time and money on it, when they’re already sucking up to the city boards to try and keep their numbers down (crime vs cost).

They did a great job - you could see they were hesitant and being pushed by the one with body cam.
But when the target presented they took instant action completing the mission with all due prejudice.
To me, the "pushing" looked more like communication "taps" or signals, more than "get your butt moving". But it could be hesitation, too.

I'm glad, for once, we're finding the police response was fast and proportional. I wonder how many lives would have been saved in past shootings, had the cops rolled in and stomped the shooter(s).

The social media response is pretty disappointing...

If you’re a cop and you’re sharing the video of the bad ass Nashville cops saving the day and stopping the tragedy from becoming worse, good on you.

BUT if youre not investing in yourself and training to become the most capable version of yourself like those Officers did, you are wrong.

If you think barely passing a QUAL or you are ok with failing a QUAL you’re wrong.

If you can’t be in good enough shape to move to contact and keep you’re breathing under control you’re wrong.

Put down the phone, go to the gym and go to the range. And be better than you were yesterday.

If you’re not improving and training regularly you don’t get to lump yourself into the category of cops that do.

He prepared his body, mind, and skills for that moment.

We need that to be the normal with all cops.

If you’re not doing that, you are wrong.
Hard pills to swallow. If your upset about what I said, take a look in the mirror.

The bad guys have a say. Your feelings don’t.

RIP to the innocent victims in this terrible tragedy .

EDIT:
I don’t give a shit if the training isn’t provided and paid for by the agency. Here’s my sad face.

Figure it out or find a different profession.

Because the dead innocent people don’t care that you prioritized a 2023 Chevy pickup lifted with 23% interest over hard skills and a gym membership.

It doesn’t take much to become a competent shooter and in good shape .

Dry firing is free and so is running.

Honestly no I'm pretty hungover today

I felt like belittling and berating was easier

Please show how these are anti LGBT
If you refuse to participate in their mental disorder, you are a hateful bigot.

If you do not support and celebrate their mental disorders, you are an anti.

If you do not give your pre-pubescent child the option of taking puberty blockers, you are an anti.

If you don't think men dressing as women should be stripping in front of pre-teens, you are an anti.

If you are an anti, they want to eliminate you.

Prepare accordingly, because they are.

I'm really upset the school didn't have proper security. The parents should be very upset about the lack of security at the school.

This shouldn't be happening.
School was locked - shooter shot out the entry door glass to get in.
Only way to stop that would be to build a prison or have armed protectors inside

When our current administration can't define what a woman is, you know something like this was bound to happen sooner or later. Scariest bit was the blue haired pediatrician trying to get your 12 year old kids to go thru sex changes.

I think you’re missing the point here: Don’t hate people by virtue of being different. One can defend themselves from antifa/BLM thugs burning down businesses and assaulting others, and not hate all black people or gays.
Im not trying to be consistent or uphold the constitution in my belief. I will not celebrate my enemies taking up arms. I couldn't care less about it, I want them crushed so that people can live in peace. The constitution was written by and for moral god fearing people. They are undeserving of its privileges and protections.

Bulletproof glass is a thing . They can mysteriously come up with the funds to fortify a new police station, why not retrofitting old schools and when building new schools?

Just like one can be against forcing hormones down children’s throats but not hate trannys.
Gender dysphoria is a DISORDER. It calls for treatment. Cross-dressing can also be (and often is) a KINK.

And before any of you say it: Asperger Syndrome is an Autism Spectrum DISORDER. Believe me, I am WELL aware of that. There are things you take for granted that I can only do with great difficulty (if at all).

Didn't think of that - wide eyed observer directing from behind the heavily armed action guys that are hyper focused on engaging forward.
Take back the hesitation comment.

Yeah every single police station I've ever visited for permitting and fingerprinting, etc. looked like a high tech fortress with vault doors and the reception front desk area in a bulletproof glass room they could easily retreat to and lock down at a second's notice. I went to public school all the way until college and public school security just typically relied on handle-less steel doors that remained locked and one open unsecured access chokepoint at the main office area with a gun free zone at the open door. Shouldn't cost too much to fortify the entrance points like our police stations..

The cost to install resistant glass is way more than 99% of Christian schools can afford for the approaching zero percent chance of an event.
The double entry doors provided enough delay that an internal protector could have engaged. That internal protector could be had at a much lower cost as there are likely at least two persons who would be willing at each school that could be trained to engage at low cost.

The Violence Project released their statement today, waiting at least long enough to get a few facts in order.

“We are still waiting for more details to emerge about this case. However, our research into the life histories of mass shooters shows that perpetrators are nearly always in crisis prior to the shooting and suicidal. Perpetrators tell others about their plans and study former perpetrators. Perpetrators often target a place that represents their anger and grievance with the world. Mass shootings are public displays of anger and despair meant to be watched and witnessed by all of us. In recent years, we have seen a marked increase in the number of mass shooters using AR-15 assault style weapons.”

They count 58 of 188 mass shootings 1966-to-present perpetrated with Assault Weapons, while Gun Violence Archive counts 646 mass shootings in 2022 alone. So, to make AR-15s the Mass Shooter’s Weapon of Choice, you just undercount shootings with pistols. ARs as the “Weapon of Choice” at 27% is still a fudge - don’t the other 73% suggest the opposite conclusion?

I get your point, but are you saying that, as a class of people, those who we disagree with should be denied their rights? Or only based on their individual actions?
Not necessarily. I do believe thinking youre the wrong gender is a mental illenss and bars you from owning firearms.
What Im saying is im not going to celebrate or encourage my political enemies to be armed, in the same way that I dont celebrate morons having drivers licenses, though it is their right to have one.

YeahWell, I'm just waiting for the nutjobs to realize that (a) shooting fish-in-a-barrel is best done with shotties, and (b) taking out large numbers of humans is best done with incendiaries, e.g. gasoline.
