Active Shooter Situation in Lewiston Maine

A safehouse with food, water, and supplies stocked means he could wait in hiding for many months. If that safehouse is located in a very rural, he could do the Eric Rudolph thing and not be caught for years.

If the goal is escape to a foriegn country, all he has to do is make the search radius as large as possible and all that requires is he stays out of sight for a few weeks, then attemps to travel and has a very large and full gas tank because the more he stops, the more likely he is spotted.

Also, I'm not convinced he hopped on the interstate because I have been of the opinion that there are cameras and plate readers on every Interstate with facial recognition tech. If he was on I95, he'd have been caught by now.

My guess is he would have taken route nine to backroads that go into western Maine.

if they don't know what plate they are looking for and he covers his face, none of that matters.
A) Rental car. It'll slow them down and they'll find his new location tomorrow, then find HIM by Friday. Same if he used Amtrak.
B) Secondary personal car. They'd have to do a DMV search to find one he owns. If it's from another state, that'll take a while.
C) He stole a car.
D) He used stolen license plates.
E) Hell... he could have hailed a cab from Lisbon Falls and gone anywhere.
F) Uber with third party account
G) Some of the above.
H) All of the above.
I) Check the reptile thread for UFO transport.

I've seen videos where mag changes are under 2 seconds even with amateurs who have never tried to "operate" before. When practicing in a safe environment, I'm usualy 1.5-2 seconds but am not pushing things either, just used to it. Basically just drop the mag, grab another and slide it in and hit the bolt catch.

Get a few 6 packs and a shooter is just as deadly as a 30 rounder.

Or just says screw it and goes all out belt fed M60.
I can't find the link, but someone took a 5-rnd mag with a California bullet-button setup and just fired the gun upside-down with a giant 50-rnd gravity feed hackjob. No spring, just weight on top of the bullets equal to the strength of a mostly full mag spring. he got 38 rounds off before jamming and demonstrated with mannequins that the body count would have been plentiful. Easier than that, is just get a job at an FFL and take one home with you. What's a tack-on theft charge when you'll be serving 20 life sentences????

Backroads yes, but why should it be assumed he's heading west? That's the reason why time is such a factor, he can be moving in any direction or he could be holed up in the woods for the next 6 months with Winter already a go in Northern Maine.

Be interesting if a guy with 20 10 round Magpuls goes on a shooting spree just to prove the point that hi cap mags don't make a difference.

Virginia tech already proved this, that POS had like a dozen 10 round mags... a couple of normal 15 rd glock mags, and only 2 handguns, one was a g19 I think, the other was a P22 that he (probably) used to try to cover himself while he sloppily reloaded his 9mm or something. When people are basically defenseless and likely cowering, none of that shit matters, the BG can keep going ad-infinitium until they run out of ammo.

National AWB incoming.
What are they gonna do, turn every gun owner who owns at least one semi automatic firearm into a felon if you don't turn them in? lol. As much as David Hogg can dream with his shiny new PAC, not happening.

Do you think the price of pre ban Glock mags will be going up?

Buddy bought a pallet of 500 shitty cheap Tapco AK mags in Pennsylvania thinking he could make BANK and scalp panicked gun owners after Hillary won the election and banned it all. Still sitting on it...

So, here's my analysis. The car-by-boatramp seems 100%. So..

1) He had a secondary vehicle parked there or used a basic watercraft to reach a secondary vehicle. Upstream is the scene and there is a dam just downstream, but brief use of water would throw off the dogs regardless. He hasn't been found in over 3 hours x 75 mph on the highway means he is somewhere in here:

If this is the case, he may not turn up for weeks, months or even years. His cash will run out so unless he has a stolen identity to operate under, so he'll be found eventually. Whether or not an accomplice picked him up doesn't change much, and I can't fathom he had a "buddy helping the cause", just no way...

2) You bet your ass that chopper had FLIR as well. If he proceeded on foot with a half-hour head start, and likely being in shape, he was 2 miles away by the time they got there and probably 6 miles away long before a good scent would have been found. Seems if he was on foot exclusively, they'd have found him by now either by flir or dogs. Regardless, as of midnight, if he was on foot, he's somewhere in here:

That's a lot of square miles and thousands of hiding places given all the unoccupied vacation homes, cabins, general abandoned buildings, etc... Even a Watertownesque response won't produce him for days. At some point his food/water stash will run out if he even has one, and no way he'd make it into public locally without being spotted. He'll either get caught foraging or B&E, but his could be upwards of 1-3 weeks if he planned ahead.
FLIR isn’t that hard to fool. Being in water will fool it also.

I just think it’s the only direction he can get someplace rural quickly.

Not sure if serious, if you know how CCTV cameras work, you would know that many of them can cause serious image distortion. A lot of times those cameras are rigged up lens wise to give the widest angle possible, and in doing so it sacrifices definition in the process, you get fisheye effects etc. On top of that some of the compression algorithsm they use to store the video are sloppy as f***, favoring speed and efficiency over image quality. I bet it would look "more like the guy" if you could actually watch the video in motion, and with enough footage I bet the size/appearance of his head changes depending on where in the FOV is from that camera and how far away he is from the camera etc.
