A sports bar, bar and what other building were targeted? All places one can’t legally carry to be sure. But they never say he went to those places BECAUSE he had less a chance of being stopped.

We all go through NICS when we buy a gun, I'm afraid to say they need to cross reference mental health records with the NICS system. How else are they going to take them out of the wrong hands? If you're mentally sound you have nothing to worry about. If you're not mentally sound then everyone around you has to worry. I'm not talking about Xanax for minor anxiety, I'm talking about dangerous mental health issues, they need to be disarmed.

So if they don't find the shooter today or tomorrow are they just going to keep Maine locked down like Watertown was in 2013? What if the authorities find evidence the shooter is in *insert NE state here* are they gonna lock down that state too? Maybe all of New England?

I could be wrong, but I do not believe there is a national mental health database, at least one that is known to the general public.
I am very opposed to one- as the dems will add "opposing us" as a disqualifying mental condition
got a text from my niece this morning. her parents live in Lewiston and were both at home last night. they are safe. I am hearing schools all over the state are closing for the day.
I'm probably the closest (in distance) NES'er to Lewiston. It's a couple of towns over. This Card guy lived about 15 minutes away.

Doesn't have to be perfect. Sometimes it just needs to be a series of good guesses. To the point of the Watertown thing, the younger Tsarnaev hardly had a "perfect E&E plan" and look how long he stayed free, despite being wounded and inexperienced and well-advertised, and despite the cops getting REALLY close a couple times.
One of my coworkers grew up there. He was at that bowling alley last weekend. His family still lives in the town.
