Active Shooter Situation in Lewiston Maine

Just think, if one guy can do this and get away with it, what if the unknown potentially thousands of Hamas terrorists that have been pouring in the border within our country plans and executes a massive simultaneous mass shooting all over?

You carry a damn firearm for one thing, to kill someone, make sure it's ready to be used.
I would go on record as saying that you carry it to stop someone else from killing you. I’d be careful about how I word things in the FBInternet. But also, it’s true. If god forbid I ever had to use a gun for self defense, Its not my intention to kill the attacker. I just don’t wanna die cause I got shit to do.

Call me madcap, but when someone has been hospitalized 2 weeks for mental issues, claims to hear voices, and threatens to shoot up the National Guard site, shouldn't they be locked up in some sort of institution?
The problem now is, we will never know the truth. Everyone who was involved with these so called "breakdowns" will spin it to save their own skin.

Schrodinger's AR-15. Too powerful and deadly in the hands of we the people cause it has assault capabilities and fires high powered rounds that decimate and destroy anything in its path. But also good luck bro with your dinky AR-15s against F-16s, nukes and shit. Lol.

Let's pretend Biden didn't threaten the American people with tyrannical genocide for a second, even going up against guys with M240s you're gonna get smoked with your dinky little AR.

depends who engages first...

Yup, how about 20 Hamas guys with money who can buy lots of AR's and ammo.

How do some zoom session therapists get away with not taking insurance, cash only, and bill $250-300 to listen to a patient talk for 45 min?
Would you stand for having to argue 1/3rd to 2/3rds of every dollar you made on an hourly basis 3 months after you worked that hour for a chance of getting paid?
Insurance companies learned this with small and big players long ago and automatically slow-roll if there's any chance that the billing party may just give up and eat the claim.

Heck, one of the largest hospitals I have some personal connection to EXPECTS a 35% nonpayal from any insurance claim. it's only after that average hits that they can afford to spend any time chasing unicorns.

I am interested in what the story is with the gun and how he had it. If it was a person to person transfer that seller is frucked and then some, they'll be sued for every penny they have.

News is reporting the bar was hosting a cornhole league for deaf folks. That certainly didn't help them getting a drop on the perp. The bar manager was the son of an Auburn city council member. Not good for Auburn politics.

It’s more likely that he killed himself in the woods somewhere and they haven’t found the body yet, than he has the skills of Batman in disappearing. I suppose it could happen, but he would have had to plan his escape, and I don’t know if that guy was mentally in a position to do that.

I remember when that Gabby girl got killed by her boyfriend a few years back and they found his car at some Everglades entrance and people thought he planned this elaborate escape because he was a wilderness expert or some bs like that, when he just tapped himself and then his body was found a month or so later.

In a face-to-face duel maybe?

Maneuvering through dense terrain, not so much.

This gets better and better…..so he would have presumably gotten his shiny new voice-emitting hearing aids from the VA, correct?

Are we using the VA to turn vets into mass shooters now?

“The family of the Army reservist accused of fatally shooting more than a dozen peoplein Lewiston, Maine, alerted police and military officials that he was experiencing an “acute” mental health episode before the Wednesday night massacre, the suspect’s sister-in-law said.

Robert Card, 40, a firearms instructor and longtime member of the Army Reserve, began to hear voices that were saying “horrible” things about him a couple of months ago when he was fitted for high-powered hearing aids, according to Katie Card, who is married to his brother.

“He was picking up voices that he had never heard,” she told NBC News. “His mind was twisting them around.

He was humiliated by the things that he thought were being said.”

Katie Card said the family did their best to reassure Robert Card that the comments were not real, including by verifying with some of the people he claimed had made the remarks. But, she said, “it turned into a manic belief.”

Where did this cc/paste come from?

I don’t know about soft armor, but no, a pistol shot to hard armor likely will not “drop the target to the ground”.

😆 No, that’s not how it works. Only way he could do that is if he were the unit armorer.

Depends on the unit. Most, utter garbage training with firearms. Some, really good and some will even pay you drill pay to attend courses.
A gunshot to center mass while wearing soft armor can kill you even if it stops the bullet. Rifle rounds zip right through it, but even though they stop a 9mm or such, it can break ribs. My armor had a small steel trauma plate to hopefully protect from that to some degree.

Unless I was set up for a head shot I was confident in making, I’d still start with body shots and try to drop him, chase him off and hopefully get a decent shot at the head or pelvis. That’s why we carry “high capacity” mags.

As to reserve/guard training, I was in a pretty good unit and we trained tactics pretty hard. We could only get live ammo and a range as often as the Army said so however. Once a year minimum, sometimes twice and it was just qualification shooting. Nothing like you would get at any of these good civilian schools.

Anybody else think that the Jihadis are furiously taking notes and revising plans after seeing one guy occupy so much LE effort and cause the lockdown and standstill of so much real estate?

Also, wasn’t there some tacticool bro a couple years ago that killed somebody and E&E’d through the woods of Pennsylvania for months. It was during a shitty time of year weather-wise with snow and cold temps. The guy eluded the cops so long because he knew the terrain and had caches and pre-positioned supplies and shit. I’ll have to see if I can find that story.
Of course, but we've seen this deal before with one shooter getting s response of hundreds of agents/officers and a dozen LE orgs.

Which is why the Hamas thing in Israel is a disconcerting situation when we consider how open our border is and how many have come thru.

If even half a percent of those who have crossed are Jihadis, we're fukked if they launch a coordinated nationwide attack.

Let's not forget the Norway guy set off a couple bombs in Oslo as a diversion and when all the cops swarmed the city, he paddled his way to an island and executed almost a hundred teenagers.
