That's my feeling right now: he already killed himself.
If he was looking to get away/run from this, wouldn't he have worn a mask or something? That would have delayed identification for a few hours at least, giving him time to get on the road somewhere.
But then again, he's not in his right mind, so who knows.
I've been under a shelter in place "order" for a while now, so my brain wanders.

Yeah, I wonder if he's at the bottom of the river. If he had come in with hat/mask/bulky clothes, no cell phone on him, tape over his license plate and had a replacement car ~30m away from the attack he could have been in the wind with very little hope of tracking him down.

I have been leaning that way as well, just for the fact he hasn't been found yet and it seems like there is no trail.
I was actually wondering how he was identified so quickly? The image we see of him sucks, looks like 50% of the male population in maine with that pic.
If he was going to off himself, he'd have done it right after the shootings. It appears he had at least some getaway plan. It's more likely he picks another target of opportunity as his desperation rises.

I think he either ran off into the woods and killed himself(best case) or is hiding out somewhere planning his next move.
There is an update coming. Would not be surprised if they found his body in the water somewhere near the boat launch. I expect it would be in the water to eliminate a heat signature (I assume the police helicopter was using IR).

IMO, he doesn’t necessarily have to worry about concealing his identity during the crime. He could potentially dawn an N95 at any time and it would be looked at as very ordinary. Change gait slightly, shave head and pop on a baseball hat. Even get creative and spray on a little bronzer and pop on a keffiyah. He pulled off the hardest part which is getaway immediately after, and I cannot recollect a shooting of this magnitude in which the perpetrator was able to escape this efficiently in recent times; as the guy in Dallas was barracaded in a parking lot and was subsequently blown to smithereens by an EOD bot.
