You think military members just get to check out their firearms and walk off base with them?

Abandoned car and a boat ramp? I think we got ourselves a runner here…In most of these mass shootings haven't the shooter offed themselves or been caught by now? Running on almost 3 1/2 hours now...
I have no clue. You think there are sufficient precautions to prevent this?
Likely? Probably not. But definitely doable.I have no clue.
Do I think it is likely? Nah.
Well it was seasonably warm today, I thought about a boat ride my self….Abandoned car and a boat ramp? I think we got ourselves a runner here…
What branch did you serve in?You think there are sufficient precautions to prevent this?
I doubt necessary for a "firearms instructor".Likely? Probably not. But definitely doable.

How good is the training for army reserves? In most of these mass shootings haven't the shooter offed themselves or been caught by now? Running on almost 3 1/2 hours now...
Exactly, Id still go for the chest, drop and take the leg if the opportunity was there. You shoot a target with body armor the same way as if no body armor. Even if your rounds don’t penetrate they will drop the target to the ground more often than not. It buys you time to slow him down and hopefully take care of business with follow up shots. Remember- you don’t necessary want him dead, just not shooting at other people/ you.
And yes- I will think twice before pulling a sidearm against a guy with a long gun. Unless I have some sort of tactical advantage / element of surprise things will go sideways very easily and not in my favor…
Great. Why was this nutjob put back out on the street. With weapons no less.Service weapon?

I would imagine it all depends? I'm not even remotely qualified to answer that question. How good is the training for army reserves?
Marines. Spent the majority of my time working in an armory. NCOIC at the MACS2 armory in Beaufort 1994-1996. SNCOIC pistol section PWS at WTBn Quantico 1999-2001.What branch did you serve in?
Absolutely. My wife just asked why nobody dropped this guy and that was my reply. Most people aren’t going to effectively engage a seasoned firearms instructor using a high capacity long gun with just a sidearm. Best case would be a cover and ambush scenario. All else would end in failure…And yes- I will think twice before pulling a sidearm against a guy with a long gun. But he could... and then swim to Greenland, then hop on a boat for Russia and defect, then half of NES would call this a Russian attack and demand a declaration of war.If by a few you mean 4 than sure, pretty sure he's not crossing the border by foot as previously stated.
No way bro, just shoot the gun out of his hand!! Everybody knows that!Exactly, Id still go for the chest, drop and take the leg if the opportunity was there.
What does this have to do with anything?
Release from a mental facility and made threats. That’s a disqualifier to own a firearm sparky
Schizophrenia is a Hell of a drug. What difference would it make in a state where ARs are readily available and affordable?
“On the radar“?! The CIA/FBI probably developed this guySo another shooter clearly who was on the radar but they never confiscated his firearms.
Center massHow many of these recent mass shooters wore some kind of armor? Got me thinking hypothetically if any of you were in a defensive situation and had the opportunity to shoot back at a perp, would you be directly taking aim above neck or stick to traditional center mass first shots?
Thats cute. Now break this demographic down to bowlers and pool players…
I think that most of time the obvious thing is obvious. .. that it's some kind of a mental health deficiency in the system and there's more loonies hanging around than anything else, and the state of our current society basically enables these people.... that said there are numerous circumstances, where weird shit the government does in the aftermath starts happening.. .. and I don't think it's a bad idea for people to be asking questions about these kinds of things. Especially when it's abundantly clear a lot of the time that there is a huge lack of aftermath transparency in these incidents. The public deserves to know these things, no exceptions. If the government is trying to hide something it's not implausible that they are also somehow / partially responsible at some level.Yeah, totally has to be a 'three letter agency sleeper agent' because no way could it just be some random #$%^&hole... The most convoluted, next to impossible explanation is the right one pretty much every (none of the) time.
