I have the 'lightweight' L5 Eagle (44M) and it's SO MUCH FUN to shoot, also have a SuperRedhawk.
Everyone is terrified of it but they all comment on how easy it is to shoot (for what it is).

I had a DE and have many revolvers. Notice the "had" on the DE. It was a fun gun, but damn did it get dirty inside. It's a direct blowback to cycle the slide just like the AR platform. If you do go with a DE get one with a 357 and/or 44 mag bbl. You'll have to sell a kidney to buy 50 A&E if that's the bbl you get. In the end I traded the DE as it just wasn't for me. It was more of a discussion gun at a group shoot then something you regularly took to the range.

I see these peoples point but I love my 50 cal Desert Eagle. It has no real value other than to show off and make noise. It's an adrenaline rush to shoot. It's obnoxious at the indoor gun range. Some people would say annoying. For these reasons and more, I love my DE! I will never part with it. Only negative is price of ammo.

It is also a wonderful HUNTING pistol, what Magnum Research says it was designed for!

I don't know if I would take the Colt over a DE for a regular shooter. Neither one is going to be a high round gun but the gas operation of the DE and interchangeable barrels is attractive.

Don't have to really run my "head". Still own a 50AE DE. Fun to shoot, but nobody is going to disagree its a PITA to clean. I still stand behind my statement. Between
the two that the OP posted, I'd take the revolver.

Really? I find it easy to clean. But I usually clean mine every 100-200 rounds

Mine was a rental gun at the local range, and one day I went in there and
it was on the counter for sale, so, I bought it! I've only had to replace the
extractor "spring" in the 5 or so years I've had it, but believe I'm gonna put
an AR-15 extractor spring in mine, as a few guys on the net have said they
work better, and no dissolving of the factory "spring"!
