Emergency Preamble to be signed Weds?

Channel 5 and all the other media (propaganda) outlets are pushing this BS as a panacea to gun violence and illegal guns. There's no mention of how it affects the law abiding gun owners and the gun stores that will be put out of business. This is what happens in a totalitarian, single party state run by commies and marxist fools hell bent on eliminating the US Constitution. I can't believe how many idiots are on-board with this mind set and blindly go along with the leftist philosophy. It's all fun and games until they come for you and your family.....
Are you expecting the lib media to tell the truth? Your not that naive are you?

Are they sure they didn’t misspell “Nibi” and it is not actually “Nimby”? Just asking for a friend…

The folks that are preoccupied with the safety of the beaver apparently never had one (or more) in their backyard walling off the local stream and flooding the neighborhood… lol. But it is par for the democratic course I guess.
The woman who rescued it would undoubtedly do the same for a baby rat in the city.

You know, after reading that WCVB article about this just now I think GOAL probably deserves some heat for not waving its arms frantically enough about this whole thing. Every single mention of GOAL and Jim that I've seen in a media piece about it goes like this:

Adds regulations? Should be concerned? WTF. Sound the f***ing alarm already. Wake people up. Pound the table. Yell about how this puts an entire industry out of business in MA, and makes felons out of thousands of law abiding citizens. Scream about how draconian it is. Grab headlines, give quotes that get people's attention. This is as bad as it gets and we literally have nothing left to lose. Not sure what it gets us in the end, but at least go down swinging and making them uncomfortable. If you're going to try to sway public opinion you first have to get the public's attention.
The media keeps reporting it as basically just a ghost gun ban, which makes my hate for them grow even further.

Notice it is not a quote. So they can spin the meaning of what he said.

Notice they wrote it in a way that sounds good (if you don't understand current laws).

To liberals:
More education = AWESOME
Limit rifle and shotguns sold = AWESOME
Gun owners concerned = who cares, we can't allow anyone to own whatever they want.

I'm so pissed that GOAL, Jim Wallace, or ANYONE who has caught their 15 seconds of fame on any news cast here, has not said the QUIET PART out loud. Like er, ALL semi autos have been banned and it isn't just kids under 21 who got their rights stomped on, it's EVERYONE one. As a whole collective. Here is an excerpt from our local rag. In Mass you HAVE to SPEAK OUT about the real issues while the cameras are rolling. Otherwise the general population will never hear "The Rest of the Story".

This.

And then there's the other classic: if you're not doing anything wrong, then you've got nothing to hide. So what are you afraid of?

GOAL has been saying that all semi-autos are getting banned from the start. When they had that panel hearing, they also mentioned it a lot.

Might be better off picking up golf or ev racing.
Spoken like a true ignorante :p

Ev racing is prolly one of the more pucker- intensive racing you can encounter. Instant torque, blinding (literally) acceleration, low…low center of gravity and cheap entry and stay cost makes it the automotive racing for the masses of the future.

Full disclosure - I have not raced any EV car on the track (short of going once with mine to New England Dragway in Epping and running 9 flat @147 mph and promptly getting kicked), but I have raced a real racing class ev cart and I can tell you- that thing was scarier that any cart I have raced in my life- and I have raced a few…

Now golfing- that I wholeheartedly agree with you :)

Yeah, I note that, but we've all seen the interviews and read the quotes. It's all a little too reserved, IMO. Too easy to ignore. I think that's a big part of why gun owners in MA are unaware of it and/or aren't taking it seriously. If somebody with a mic in front of them was truly sounding the alarm and getting people's attention they might. Someone like Jim showing some real passion in front of a camera is exactly the sort of thing the media would run with. Sure they might try to spin it as an unhinged gun guy, but at least some people make their own determinations so if the message is fair and accurate people will see it for what it really is.

GOAL is supposedly the voice of gun owners in MA, which is why all the media outlets interview Jim. If he's not visibly passionate and upset about all of this, shouting and grabbing headlines about how insane this law is - we all look like we're rolling over and accepting it.

I'm amazed that you haven't realized by now that in a world where neither the media nor their readers can define "semi-automatic" in the first place, it hardly matters what they report nor who they claim said it.

We are gun guys. We have the context to understand how awful this bill is. You're expecting the media to have that same context, and you should know by now that you're wishing on a star.

The imminent demise of firearms retail and the de facto ban on semiautos are egregious and unconstitutional infringements... but if you think either of those will resonate with the normies, you're delusional. Sorry, but the truth hurts.

I pointed out EVs not because they’re queer, but because if he’s afraid of laws then getting a gasser in MA will lead to the same issues in the future as they approach 2035

Normies aside, the fact that so many gun owners have no clue how bad this is is itself an indictment of how this was messaged to the mainstream press.

I get it though. As a collective we've been on our heels for decades so shifting to our toes is unnatural, but the opportunity to sound the alarm and maybe get a few jabs in as the last few nails were being driven into our coffin was missed.

I would though love to be a fly on the wall to see the look on some of these people’s faces when they go into any given store to buy the most basic of rifles or shotguns and get told no.

NES is a TINY percentage of gun owners. People who are actually active here are even tinier. People who are active AND activists about gun rights? Even smaller.

Failing to understand that you think differently than 99% of your fellow citizens is a cognitive block that a lot of posters here just can't seem to remove. We are a tiny minority, and we need to start realizing it. Fortunately, we're also in the right. So, there's that.

Adding ... most gun owners in most States have no idea of what is going on with laws. It is not just a MA thing.

So instead he yells and screams and creates a scene so the media labels him another crazy gun guy and that's why we need to keep these guns out of their hands. Not sure what you aren't understanding about media and their agendas. They will never report the complete truth.

I catch myself all the time getting pissed at the normies, then I realize I’m just not the same as them as they walk off their cliff.

Lemmings…

Some wake up though so I keep trying. Always looking for that next dopamine hit.

Yelling and screaming gibberish, sure. Showing a little passion and frustration while making sure everyone understands the worst parts of this law is not that though. Not if done correctly.

Sir other than the Boston Herald, no other media in this state will publish the whole truth. They will NEVER portray guns in a positive light. You can give a MLK type speech and they will not air it. How much more evidence do you need to understand we will never get a fair shake here. People want to be fed info. They don't want to have to obtain it on their own. We live in a headline society. Grassroots and elections are the only means we have of fighting for our cause. Shy of violence of course.

Good luck finding one who will.

Why the f*** would we do that? That easily the dumbest idea I have ever heard on NES. Why would we make that public?
Please help me understand your position.

Why would a lawful business avoid filling a niche with lawful transactions?

There are already out of state dealers who sell MA compliant rifles and shotguns. Why wouldn't they continue to do the same?

Grassroots and elections are pointless here, which is the point. Our only means of fighting is in court. What we need is awareness.
