They'd be cracked if you just cut them off to restore the threads. (Especially if it's not easy to remove the pins. ) A lot of people just toss that shit especially if they're not going back. They're often noisy and ineffective. Especially a lot of the cheapos people use for compliance.

99% of the people in the Commonwealth are paying no attention at all to how this law is going. They don't realize how dumb TPTB look. As for the other 1%? They either already know how stupid the legislature is, or they're in the legislature themselves.

Generally no, although sometimes on short guns you have to pin/weld to avoid Federal/ATF issues to guarantee minimum 16" barrel length to avoid creating an illegal SBR if you're not otherwise building a pistol.....
Also a lot of mass guns came "pref***ed from the factory" with that shit so the guns could legally cross the counter from whoever is selling them. So there’s a lot of stuff out there with turds pinned and welded on the output end.

f*** this brake. These are horrible. And there are hundreds of mass ARs with this POS on the end. These all belong in the trash. All it does is punch people in the face and barely reduces recoil/flip. At least when people have annoying shit like an SJC titan it actually works, it has a reason to exist.

I'll take that, and raise you a Stag 3g brake. This thing clears out a range faster than anything else I own. I don't even shoot it when people I don't regularly shoot with are around. It does actually work though, too well even.

Sometimes you need to make some extra space if it's crowded. A loud brake is a lot easier than whipping it out on the firing line - that's frowned upon apparently. They didn't have to call the cops though.
