Emergency Preamble to be signed Weds?

Ah yes...I remember hearing this on the radio during the riots of 2020...She is using a flame thrower to the constitution and civil liberties in MA and damn proud of it...

Healey: ‘America is burning. But that’s how forests grow’

  • ATTORNEY GENERAL MAURA HEALEY, in a passionate speech on Tuesday, suggested the protests sweeping the nation may yield long-term benefits. “Yes, America is burning. But that’s how forests grow,” she said.
As violent protests rile the country and Boston over the killing of George Floyd, Healey delivered a half-hour speech about race via Zoom to the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. Healey, a Democrat, said the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the disparities black and brown Americans endure – the disparities of “400 years of racism and oppression” that society “must acknowledge, own, and fix.”
Healey started her speech by acknowledging her limitations in discussing race. “The color of my skin doesn’t allow me to truly understand what it’s like to leave your home and automatically be subject to so many assumptions and biases,” she said.

Healey said in her work as attorney general, she wanted to address the systemic racism plaguing society. “I’ve fallen short,” she acknowledged, noting the continuing threats and fears within Massachusetts.
Healey described racism as a value that is “embedded” in the United States. “Racism has been embedded in our country from the time that Europeans plundered our First Americans and Africans were stolen from their land, shackled, and brought to our shore,” she said.
Healey made the case that the unrest over Floyd’s killing and the unequal impact of the pandemic give America an opportunity to create a more just society. “I won’t talk about rebuilding. Instead, I’ll talk about building anew in ways that rid us of the institutionalized racism that’s led to America burning today,” Healey said. If Americans do not seize that opportunity, she said, it will “extinguish the promise of this great country.”

After a Sunday night violent protest in Boston that resulted in property damage, arrests, and injury to civilians and police officers, Healey said she is calling for a “revolution,” but not a violent one. “I support calls for a revolution but not the revolution of violence in our streets,” Healey said. “Instead, I’m calling for a revolution in mindset. A fundamental change to our ingrained assumptions.”

My wife was so confused the first time she got ducked. She asked me and I pretended i didn't know but told her it was pretty ominous . It was a duck with a bikini top on it lol

So we all just got boned out of last minute October purchases? Man, this sucks balls! They really ruined all the fun.
Some of us did that in the last 2 days. I just want to give a shout-out to the dealers at The Mill. KAG, Ma**h***, The Mill Gun Shop, Dean Safety, Custom Defense Solutions, Minuteman, and a few others. They were all there today working their asses off to get their customers what they needed. When I was there it wasn't crazy, but it was certainly busy. Custom Defense had a huge line waiting for them to open, I hope they had a good night. In the last couple of months since learning about The Mill I have met some great people and it really bothers me to see their livelihood threatened.

Private sales are gtg with 4 per year. No EFA10 is referenced in this new law and “guidance” states you are under no obligation to register new acquisitions until 18 months from now when the new system is live. Until then I would still use the EFA10 for transfers only.
Why use the FA10 system if it's not in the new law?

Simply to cover the paper trail of a transaction between licensed individuals. That data will certainly be transferred into the new system imho. While they haven’t stated that yet I believe that will indeed occur (even in it’s inaccurate state). This is just an opinion. Ymmv.

So out of state FFL's are still able to sell long guns to MA buyers. Is this true for killy stuff as well? AK's, AR15's, AR10's?

And yet not an incorrect one. GOAL has not really understood this bill from the beginning and has put out bad info from the start.

This whole petition thing was pretty foolish, and I said so in the beginning. But, once it was started, I went along with their ugly baby to try and make the most of it. We’d look extremely weak as a community if we didn’t come out strong with petition signatures after it was started.

But as crackpot mentioned, this was easily seen as an option for the state of GOAL had read the state constitution in detail.
Isn't the petition a waste? Most of Mass is flaming left wing whack job liberal. Even if it goes to a vote, Mass voters will embrace it.

They're soy-dipped sheep all around.

I'm under the impression that FID license holders cannot posses or sell a semi auto.
That is correct and as of today any FID holders who are in possession of a semi auto of any variety or caliber are now felons.

Chapter 140 Section 129B(c) states:

(c) A firearm identification card shall entitle a holder thereof to purchase, transfer, possess and carry rifles and shotguns that are not large capacity or semi-automatic, and the ammunition therefore. A firearm identification card shall not entitle a holder thereof to transfer, possess or carry any other firearm including any large capacity firearm, any large capacity or semiautomatic rifle or any large capacity or semiautomatic shotgun except under the direct supervision of a holder of a license to carry firearms at an incorporated shooting club or a licensed shooting range. Except as otherwise provided herein, a firearm identification card shall not be valid for the use, possession, ownership, transfer, purchase, sale, lease, rental or transportation of any large capacity firearm.

Let the AR and AK pistol build parties begin.

Sorry boys, I just bought the entire supply of 8 and 10" uppers.

I don’t feel like spending $2k for the luls, but can someone buy one of these uppers and slap it on a braced AR308 lower to send the picture to Maura with a thank you?

Bonus points of a video using it for clays.

Would you settle for a 5.56 7.5" upper on a braced ghost lower?

For the ninetieth time:

The petition was never about actually getting the law overturned. It was about keeping LGSs in business.

It’s interesting to see people here screaming they won’t comply with the new registration requirements and then consensus that people are going to still do FA10s even thought that system is completely dead per the law.

Not saying you shouldn’t do them to document a transfer, just an observation.

The trick about noncompliance is that you have to find another non-complyer.

I'm perfectly willing to do a sale or trade without a paper trail, but I am aware that the other guy probably isn't. So if I insist on my noncompliance, I don't make a sale.

It's about whether I'd rather make the deal, or rather signal my virtue.
