Emergency Preamble to be signed Weds?

You mean like the 11% CA excise tax on guns and ammo that is in full force and effect.

Or the $25/gun .05/round of ammo tax passed in Seattle and upheld by the courts.

Or the fee needed in several states (MA, NY, NJ) to exercise the 2A right?

No I think he means like how SCOTUS found in Gideon v. Wainwright that the constitution requires states to provide attorneys who are unable to afford their own because its a right under 5A and 6A, anyone that cannot afford a firearm should be provided one for them by the state under 2A.

Have you seen what the media does to any pro-2a advocate's statements in editing?
There is a reason why Jim from GOAL speaks with the tightly controlled words that he uses

No, they classified certain commonly possessed firearms with certain cosmetic features as "assault-style" firearms
What they also did was reclassify all long guns in such a way that they then were covered by a consumer protection schema without allowing the time necessary for the industry to get long guns into the approval process

An assault weapon is a political term with no actual definition.
I think you are mixing the term up with the actual term assault rifle (which is an intermediate cartridge with select fire capability)

Agree - and the media does not allow any calm, sane pro-2a to address the issues, questions or concerns of the general public.
The media is there to make money and further their own agenda, not to create an educated, informed public.
An honest if not morbid summary of life in the PROM. Best if we follow and support pro 2A orgs as well as the civilrights coalition.

I'm talking Glocks frames here.

Glocks guns are on the Roster but do not meet AG regulations.

Glock frames are not guns and since the complete guns are on the roster - Glock frames can be sold from shops.

The flood gates are open folks!!!

Mortgage the house and bring your credit card to the liquor store.

A frame is a gun now.

I wonder how many more “improper storage” cases and convictions there will be nowadays. How many people leave a receiver/frame on their workbench?

How many people need to leave out frames or receivers to dry after painting them? I understand this is probably a much smaller set of people. But what about shops that do cerakoting services? Are their drying/curing areas secured?

Most are probably going to do what every other FFL does, lock the doors and turn on the alarm if it exists.,

Think about it for a minute, most MA gun shops dont run around and put locks on every gun at night or lock them in a safe. So they're quite obviously basing thier "safe storage" fullfillment off turning the store into a secure container.

Of course this is one of those things I think that doesn't exactly get tested a lot.

If they're approved why would you need to do a frame transfer?
Because of CMR940. (AGs regs). CMR940 defines a chemical peopellant requirement for a gun to fall under its purview.

Frame transfer dodges CMR940 because the thing "crossing the counter" is not something subject to the regulation.

Why are people making this so difficult. There is no such thing as a "frame transfer" under the new law. There are only "firearms sales". Under the new law frames are firearms. If the firearms is on an approved firearms roster it can be legally sold "so long as they are not otherwise prohibited".

Lol there's still distinctions between the two things. Especially WRT CMR940.

So, with the preamble signed I guess the only way to get a USP 45 Expert is private sale....sadness washes over me...
Or buy a house in NH. Per the ATF, a part time resident is a resident of that state when they are there.

Form 4473 instructions even say, if you are at your weekend place in state B and are buying a firearm, you are a resident of state B.

Then you can bring the firearm into MA legally provided it doesn't run afoul of the AWB . Mags need to be 10 rounds or less.

No offense... honestly... but you've had 2 years of advance notice that the Legislature and Maura were coming to destroy us with the Mother of All Anti-Constitutional gun banning laws. How come you waited until the last 3 weeks before the Monstrosity anti-2A law was scheduled to take effect, especially with Maura vowing in the media to stop the petition drive cold through an Emergency Preamble? 🤔

As a long-time gun collector gun hoarder in MA, I share your pain. The new law is stopping my hobby cold turkey too. But at least I took the Legislature and Maura at their word and took steps to mitigate the damage. It's a whole new world now, but at least I'm well-positioned to tolerate the pain until relief comes to us one way or another.

So, for now, find a substitute pistol or go green and place that WTB ad for a private party sale. Who knows? It has worked for me. You may get lucky. [thumbsup]

I feel like there’s always “one more” we all want no matter how much advance buying you do.
