Yes, thanks to everyone for sharing and letting me try guns I had not ever shot before. Of course, now I "need" to buy some of them for myself.....[crying]

Sorry I had to cut out early, but I had to get home early for my kids....

Yes, everyone is top notch, and a great bunch of people, and they all had some really great guns. I hope we can make this event a regular.

Dan

First off I want to thank Ken Mauer for securing the range and allowing the large amount of non-members to shoot.

It was great meeting everyone today. I was impressed with the turnout, we had a lot of shooters there. Cudos to tele_mark for hitting the clothes line that was strung across the birm. I never knew you were a trick shot artist. [wink]

A big thank you for a big man "Tiny" for allowing everyone to shoot his hand cannons. I know the ammo for those are not cheap.

The only thing I was disappointed about was Brent didn't show up to police all of the brass. [thinking]

I forgot to thank everyone involved (Ken and others) for putting this together! It was a great time, with great people!

I also want to thank everyone who brought their own ammo for my Babies. You saved me a LOT of money!

Hopefully I will be reloading for this caliber soon, and at the next get together y'all can shoot it on me!

Now if we can only get those videos posted somewhere online!

I think 007 bought those 50SW rounds One was enough for me!

Then he lets me shoot is USP and Rem 700. Exactly what I was kinda hoping somebody would have. Thanks man!

Thanks to everybody else there too and to Ken for opening the ranges to us. Awesome time.

Bill: The holosight was an Eotech 552.

Confirmed my total lack of pistol skills again. I think I need to take a class or two.

Yes, I did bring a box of .500's for everyone to shoot.

Crak, anytime you wanna hit up MRA when you're not heading to NJ, let me know. You can shoot my pistols whenever you'd like.

Well Sheriff Dudley missed the Boat i thought that everything was to start
at 2:pm, so i made arrangments to meet travler57 there about noonish so
he could buy my S.M.L.E.#4-Mk2 which he did!! Then about 2:20 or so i left
cause i only saw three people on the range, two in a boat and one guy at the club house on a motorcycle, so i thought no one was going to show
so i left ( MY LOSS) SH!# i dont know where i got the idea it started at
2:00Pm oh well i guese i missed meeting some of the Forum,s Greats!!
Next time i will have to pay more attention!!

I would like to thank those for the range, the setting up and the clean up at the end of the night, I had a great time and many of you saw my "lets empty this mag quick fire" lol, I also want to thank derek for the cigar, Mark for the SKS fires, Big Daddy for the 12Ga. time, and all other's that let me try the gun's they had.. I look forward into meeting up and dropping more brass around our feets to make a VW Bug again soon!

It sounds like a great time, I wish I could gave gone it was only about 6 miles from my house but I had to do something with the family and we had to be on the road by 3PM. Hopefully next time I will be free.

The view from the firing line

From left: Derek, Dwarven1, Crak, fooped?, Uncle Fester, Billk, Jwilson (shooting staple gun), drepuccini007, MigMojo, tele_mark, LenS, Big Daddy 45 ACP, kmaurer, JimConway, Kate (Uncle Fester's sister), ??

If anyone can fill in the question marks, PM me and I'll edit this post with your correct names. My apologies if I've misnamed anyone.

Ross the Dwarven One.

PS - after looking at this photo, and the carnage we left behind, I understand why the Japanese didn't even contemplate invading in WWII - it was amazing the amount of firepower we brought with us!!!

First and foremost, thanks to Derek for creating our "playground" that gave us the opportunity to meet.

Next, thanks to Ken Maurer and Westford Sportsmen's Club for hosting us and setting this up.

Glad to meet some of you, and actually missed formally meeting most of you from seeing Ross' picture.

Great having dinner with Uncle Fester and Sister Kate. Too bad some more of you folks couldn't make it. The food and service was excellent and the company was at least equal to that!

35 pictures to follow. Let's see if I can break the forum! [devil]

The sad part is, I was aiming about 15 feet lower, at one of the detergent containers in the mud.[rolleyes]

My theory is that the clothes line was so intimidated by my SKS that its will to live left it.

Sorry I missed it!

It sounds like you folks had a rollicking good time yesterday; well done! I'm sorry I missed it.

Let's see -- 2155 foot-pounds of muzzle energy built up over a time of about 4 milliseconds accelerating a 210 grain projectile to an ultimate velocity of 2150 feet per second.... I'm surprised that didn't pick Dwarven1 up and put him on his kiester. [smile]

Thanks to all who posted pictures!

Katie and I had a great time yesterday. Special thanks to Ken for letting us use the club. It was a great crew, and a lot of fun. Glad the weather held out for the most part, and I hope we can do it again sometime soon. I've got a couple of pics, and two video clips for posterity.

Carl, it'll take something a lot bigger than that to put me on my rear - I'm not exactly a lightweight! [laugh]

Actually, I found it more fun than the COP to shoot! I suspect that those Hogue Monogrips made all the difference; I wasn't wincing in pain after the shots.

The biggest problem that I have with it is that I think I want one someday... [wink] Along with an M1 carbine... and a Para CCW... and a Mosin Nagant...

Of course, after shooting the 500, I think I'm going to take the Model 629 off of my wish list. [wink]

I think it's time to get a better paying job again. [smile]

Not to mention that your center of gravity is a bit lower than mine. [smile]

I've picked your COP up; heck, I palmed it. There's no way I could ever shoot it unless there was just simply no choice.

The .500, though, looks like a cannon my hands could handle -- but at better than a buck per round, my wallet would collapse!

Isn't that always the case....

I think that was kind of the idea behind that gun. [wink]

That's why you need to start reloading... [smile]

I'm completely wiped right now. I finished up teaching a Home Firearm Safety class just before we started the shoot (hence the 2pm start time), and stayed on the line until about 6:30, then I taught another class today and moved everything from my trunk into the safes. Glad all of you could make it. I think that was the biggest NES get-together we've managed so far. Luckily, the weather held off until the last hour. Rather than take up all the bandwidth posting the few pictures I took, including a couple of video clips of Tiny's 500 in action, I posted everything here.
