Harvard Sportsmen's Club

I came up Beaver Brook, what an odd street. Looks like a bunch of 1960's condos/apts
and then you come up to an industrial/office park and then open fields which back up to HSC

There is a draw-gate at the end which *was* open. Anyone know if it's a permanently open
kind of thing or just while they are repaving/re-sewering?

Gate on Beaver Brook as you come up to Littleton County? I think that's always open for the office park / condos.

I guess they really do only work Monday through Friday. Went to the club this morning by way of Whitcomb Ave. No people, equipment or road closed signs.

Went to the club today by way of Whitcomb and this is what the detail cop told me. The plan is to work until Christmas then stop until spring. Start again and go all the way to 111, then go to Boxboro and connect so the people with wells can have town water.

And they are going to get the water where?

Hmmmmm

so there is no getting to the rt2 entrance from the club, we need to turn left instead? am i getting it right?

That is correct. When you leave the club, there's a detour sign right in front of you. I'll ask again this morning but it seems to vary depending on what the detail cop wants to allow. Yesterday, the one at the Whitcomb Ave end, let me drive through but the one at the Littleton County Rd end would not.

The only response to anyone who wants to take club land is "come and take it" - and I don't mean with lawyers. Stack up or f*** off .

Might come to that. I've been waiting to see what the towns would do to supply fresh water with these new lines. I don't think we've heard the end of the Well vote that passed last year.

I'm guessing accidental due to severe flinch. I'm also guessing bullet holes in the shed were not accidental. You can only see a small piece of it through the trees, and that's exactly where it was hit.

Actually, in review, one board is pretty crappy, has a giant knot right almost in the middle, will source some replacements just in case. Overall it feels much flatter than the prior bridge.

Out of curiosity as I was invited to go tomorrow, are 9mm PCCs allowed in the indoor range? I don’t see anything specific about PCCs in the rules aside from no centerfire rifles.

Would like to take my MP5 clone with an 8” barrel if it matters.

A PCC is a centerfire rifle and not permitted at the indoor range.

I'm glad it feels flatter. I bit of effort was put into making the new bridge level. Maybe being flat and level will keep Ed from falling into the swamp again.

A pistol caliber carbine might have a bit more velocity but it's still a pistol cartridge. I understand the exclusion though. Some moron who can't tell a rimfire or PCC from a rifle will think it's fine to shoot a rifle.
9mm PCC is in the same ballpark as 357mag when it comes to velocity, and thus backstop wear.

Shoot outside like a man. Plenty of covered ranges. You won't melt.

It's 100% this. There are still people who break plate racks at the other ranges because they can't read a bright yellow sign about what they can shoot at it.

I always shoot outside but it has nothing to do with being a man. I don't like the concussion and I don't want to breath all that crap. In fact, when it's real cold, I thaw my fingers on the defroster. If it's that cold, there's no one there to see what a sissy I am.
One pair of gloves for shooting, another pair on the defroster warming up for standing around between drills.

Those are the days Gerry can get a parking spot !
