Even if you do that, replacing the lock with another cylinder is a 5-minute affair. The title of the thread said "Safe". Unless the OP is trying to save the gun cabinet, drill out the lock. I've done it a few times, takes about 2 minutes.
Should be pretty comical when I attempt to open.
I chose the word 'safe' rather than gun cabinet because I wanted NES-ers to at least read the first post before revoking my man card. And I think that was good judgement on my part because after all the helpful responses, I can see that "Help Me Crack Open this Stack-On" is pretty much the same as "Help Me Open this Stubborn Zip-Lok Bag".The title of the thread said "Safe". Unless the OP is trying to save the gun cabinet, drill out the lock. I've done it a few times, takes about 2 minutes.
I was thinking about that, but the probability of me getting the pin back in is only slightly higher than the probability of me finding any of those AR detent springs that went into orbit. It has an external piano hinge. Just drive the long ass pin out.
I'll give it a shot but my lack of video skills will be funny enough alone.film this foray for our viewing pleasure, could be mildly entertaining...like geraldo rivera opening al capone's safe.
Shhhh... Mrs. Mountain will hear you. I already ordered a set of jiggler keys.I lost the keys to a stack-on cabinet once.
The Vice grip video opened it right up.
After that I just replaced the lock.
The set of jigglers like the one that worked in the video won't deliver until next Friday. We'll all be on the edge of our Eames chairs in anticipation.Did you get her open?
I have some picks that you are welcome to use.Yes, but if I can't do a DIY job it would be cheaper to just toss it and buy a new cabinet. If I can get it open I can probably either alter or replace the lock cylinder.
Why? You still won’t have the key and opening it will be a PITA every time. Just drill the damn lock, then you can replace it if you really want to keep that POS.The set of jigglers like the one that worked in the video won't deliver until next Friday. We'll all be on the edge of our Eames chairs in anticipation.
pls post the outcome.Shhhh... Mrs. Mountain will hear you. I already ordered a set of jiggler keys.
I have the lock pick sets feom my dad when he was the electrician at the state house. The “master” key did not always work so out came the pick set.pls post the outcome.
my kid had a lockpicker tool set when he played with it, and got surprisingly, i would say, good with it.
This is my only question.Did you get her open?
