How Many Mags Can You Carry In Mass?

loaded or unloaded, it's more of a weight issue, properly kitted out I'd say more than 100 mags (1000rd) could be an issue.

Oh, wait, you mean LEGALLY ..... no there is no limit. [laugh]
I can comfortably carry a 48 pound child for 1.2 miles without fatigue

If the average 9mm round weighs 124 grains

And I'm too lazy to convert that to American

This equals as many as i f***ing want

I only have about 200 AR mags, so that's kind of self limiting [laugh]

All joking aside, it depends on where I'm going. Around my current house in the MA boonies I usually don't carry a spare. Going into downtown Boston I usually carry at least a spare in a mag carrier and usually another in my pocket for a total of three (one in the gun and two spares, the spares have a +0 extended floorplate). In NC I will carry one in the gun (for 12+1 in my G26 or P365) and a 15 or 17 round spare if I'm going into the city. So I actually have slightly more ammo on me in MA, LOL.

I'm in NC and haven't followed all the new stuff. Are you guys saying not only can't you buy a new gun with a greater than ten round magazine, you can't even carry a gun with a pre-ban "large capacity" mag in it?

Guns in MA only go up to ten. More importantly, be sure not to carry a pistol with a threaded barrel as many newer guns have those now like the Hellcat with a compensator. Assault pistol = assault weapon = straight to jail

Everyone here who says you can carry unlimited mags has never read the new law. It clearly states that you can only have ten round magazines. If you carry more than ten round magazines you will be breaking the law. Important to note: it says nothing about carrying rectangular magazines or any other shape of magazine. It only refers to round ones. And you can only carry ten total. So please do not carry more than ten round magazines. Rectangular ones: knock yourself out.

but none of my mags are round. does that mean I can't carry any or I can carry an unlimited number?

I’d say as long as they’re not round then you can carry unlimited amounts. Seems like they just wanted to limit the number of drum mags you can carry. Which I am against, just for the record. But holy shit they’re heavy and I can’t imagine wanting to carry more than ten anyway.

Per the letter of the law... Does this also apply to square-notch vs U-notch?

Correct. This is my last recollection upon leaving the shithole. I don't have a cite as I don't care....this was the last I had heard......

You can still own preban mags. You cannot use them for carry......only range. They have to be in a locked container when transporting to the range and I assume at home but i'm not sure of that. Im not sure if you can transport them loaded either.
