Might be true but I'm not a fud so I kinda gloss over that stuff. As I read it, the roster will only be of semi-auto firearms that are OK and not OK, and will not apply to bolt/lever/pump firearms?

I haven't really done more than skim the dealer sections but it looks like dealers are going to be required to register their inventory with the state.Got it. Can an MA dealer put it in the portal before it's sold? Or does it have to be sold to be in the portal.

Looking at the text it doesn't discriminate between actions so everything seems to need the full testingI like pretty much everything, particularly because I am as much (or more) a hunter as a shooter.
A real mp5?
The law hasn't been signed yet as far as I can tell. There isn't anyone to ask. And if it is signed, 90 days before it goes into effect with the exception of the Assault Weapons Registration stuff by 8/1. An emergency preamble could get added but seems unlikely.seriously though. Who does one call or email to get answers to questions about this?
I saw a post or two from someone who had emailed a question, and got a seemingly pretty serious official answer. He posted the screenshotted reply.
But there’s like 4-5 threads about this subject (in one way or another) and I can’t find the post to ask that person directly. Is it the AGs office? Who can answer questions about this?
This x1000.I know we’re all trying to sort through what the new law will mean, and how it will impact our lives as gun-owners, but the one thing we should all agree upon is that fixed mags are gay as f***.
What could you possibly say about a line of guys waiting patiently for their chance to kneel and blow a tyrant that would get you a vacation
Everything has to go through testing for the roster since there is no longer a frame workaround.
This also applies to rifles and shotguns since everything is a firearm now.
So how many rifles or shotguns are on the roster today? Zero
How many will be there in six months?
Probably zero.
I said “They must have some really good pussy down there.” but in all fairness NES was striving to be a more family friendly environment back then…What could you possibly say about a line of guys waiting patiently for their chance to kneel and blow a tyrant that would get you a vacation
And to this I’d say: “Enjoy the toy…”There are fifty guys in that picture, and every single one of them has been able to take his AR to the range every day for the last ten years without giving it a second thought.
The couple hundred thousand hard steely-eyed patriots who didn't register their rifles? Yeah. Not so much.
We all new the moon bats we’re going to shove at least 95% of the bag of shit down our throats.I called, I wrote letters all knowing it would do no good, I urged my friends and family and shit even people I barely knew to do the same.
This was hard for myself to keep up on, constantly changing, morphing etc. It felt like the stupid shell game a hustler would play on a city street.
I felt I wouldn’t know what the final crap show would be till it came out. Well the baby was born and for once I agree with the left. This one should have been aborted
That wasn’t Four Seasons.@Hardwired
Im not sure FS is totally correct with this statement. The law continues:
"...or by a holder of a license to sell under section 122; provided, that the assault-style firearm shall be registered in accordance with section 121B"
Section 121B is the new registration system this law creates, not the "registration" system we have now. This seems to indicate that as long as the gun is legally possessed in MA by Aug 1st, by a dealer or individual, it is grandfathered. That would mean that dealers can sell their inventory but not re-stock. In other words, they dont have to be "registered" in the current system by Aug 1st.
IANAL
Right, but I was originally replying to the guy asking.I know we’re all trying to sort through what the new law will mean, and how it will impact our lives as gun-owners, but the one thing we should all agree upon is that fixed mags are gay as f***.
Maybe we should call/write all of the "yea" votes and ask specific questions about how to comply with the new law.
"I was going to buy a new bolt action hunting rifle, but this law makes that illegal. Am I reading that right?" (quote chapter and section saying so)
"I have a collection of antique guns that never had 10 round magazines made for them, this bill seems to make them impossible to sell because the buyer can't get magazines or even take the ones I've got. Am I reading that right? This feels like a taking without compensation."
etc.
Ask in a genuine, respectful way; as if you're trying to understand the new regulations, not change their mind or rile them up.
Make them admit they have no idea what was in the bill or how any of it works.
To what end?
To what end?

No end, make their lives a living hell. Drown them in stupid questions, make them regret passing this garbage.
Unless those Bolt/Lever/Pump firearms have a receiver in common with a banned firearm. (If I am reading this correctly)As I read it, the roster will only be of semi-auto firearms that are OK and not OK, and will not apply to bolt/lever/pump firearms?
They got exempted and it magicly became constitutional.Where did the police chiefs that were speaking out go ?? They got what they wanted removed ?
Not a bad idea, but all we'd get is a form letter. We wouldn't be costing them any extra time or energy.
Call then.
Email is useless because form letter, and I expect snail mail is just as useless, but more expensive (for them too, if they respond)
