This right here is a huge problem.
We as gun owners claim to be all "freedom" and shit, but we don't actually support freedom if it's something we're not personally into. And it's worse than that: Most GLBTQ people and their allies see gun owners at a direct threat, because gun owners tend to be hypocrites when it comes to freedom. You don't even have to look hard right here on NES to find lots of really hostile language toward anyone who isn't straight, nevermind those who are trans. *OF COURSE* they see their own existence as more important than gun rights, because in their mind it's a choice between one or the other.
Imagine if we marched for gay rights with them. Imagine if we were vocal for our support for their rights to do what they want with their bodies. Imagine if they didn't associate "gun people" with "people who want to kill them". We'd probably get actual support from the rainbow crowd, rather than ... the opposite.
Before anyone says, "but I have a xxx who is yyy and he/she/they like guns" or "I'm not a bigot" or whatever, keep in mind I'm talking in generalities about large population groups, not individuals.
