There are people gun owners (people like you) actively antagonize and vilify and threaten and (joke) about doing harm to, and THEY VOTE. Not only do they vote, but all of their allies who are not queer vote. And they don't give a shit about your gun rights because you are, in their minds an existential threat to them and their friends.

You can whine about what you believe is "right" or "correct" or "immutable" or whatever, and vilify them, and they'll vote against your rights because you threaten their lives.

As to the rest of your questions: I don't care at all if a trans woman is in the bathroom/locker room with my mother/wife/daughter. They're not a threat to me or anyone I know. Trans people are victims of violence so much more often than the perpetrators the latter category barely even exists. "gaybashing" still exists.

But you know who is a threat? Queerphobic people who threaten them. I taught an LTC class with a bunch of trans women in it. They were there literally because they felt threatened by people who talk the way you do. It's actually worse than that: Men and women who are not .. traditionally attractive, are getting beat up because transphobic shitballs think they're trans, and for some reason have a problem with it.

This! Definitely appreciate the sentiment, but the level of political organization in order to develop and execute on a strategy that would actually unseat members of the House in the Senate just isn't there.

We would need to run reasonable (our definition != that of the majority) and appealing candidates in every single district in the Commonwealth (no small task in places like Melrose Newton, Lexington) in order to be effective here. And I just don't see that happening.

And even if you could unseat even a quarter of the legislature, unless you're in leadership your voice and vote mean nothing.

Like could I run for office? Sure. Do I want to? Hell no! That said, despite being here for quite a while now, I'm just not as invested here as someone who perhaps grew up here, has family here, etc.

That is a classic anti-gun extremist trick if I ever saw one: Start by finding a simple benign identifying feature (could have been literally anything) and then make the definition so broad in your new gun ban law so as to include ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING ever made.

Toby is a good guy. His heart is in the right place. He has walked the walk and talked the talk fighting anti-2A oppression in this awful state and elsewhere. I would even argue that his YouTube broadcasts, giving testimony, running for political office, etc. have been more effective overall in getting the word out than what anyone at GOAL has been able to do.

But yes, he is wrong on thinking voting can solve this gun law crisis. Voting in MA is useless. Only the courts can fix this now... most likely the US Supreme Court.
