Well, yes, the wording of the bills is definitely pushy. But his question was about enforcement.

I suspect this law is likely to be a VERY low-priority item for local cops to mess around with.
I suspect you're underestimating your betters. I would have thought a lot of things about the locals, but I learned the hard way.

"No, doctor, I would NEVER own guns. Those are dangerous. Only the police and military should have them. "

[rofl]"Ban the guns first. Due process after." That Trump?

My PCP is a member of my local club; I've shot skeet with him.
My optometrist is a member of my local club.
My chiropractor is a member of my local club; he shoots NRL and PRS.
My dentist is a member of my local club.

I'm not kidding.

...in Georgia

Yup.

I was born in Maryland, went to Connecticut in 1977 to go to college, lived there until I built my house in Georgia in 2016. Up until this past May I had a residential camper in a "resort campground" in Connecticut, and my wife and I summered there.

That's a lot of years of dealing with the gun laws in Connecticut and its neighboring states.

Georgia summers suck - but I'm getting used to them - and the number firearm related things I do on a daily basis that are legal here that aren't in New England would make you sick.

Simple example - I have four handguns sitting on my workbench now because they need to be cleaned. I've got a loaded handgun in my knapsack sitting on a chair. They're all Glocks, couple of them were purchased privately, no paperwork. One of them has a <gasp> threaded barrel on it. All of them have <another gasp> "high capacity" magazines that are reasonably new.

So, yeah, "in Georgia" - and happy with my, (and my wife's) decision to move here. I *KNOW* it's not the right decision for everyone - it's been good for me.

359 Section 121D. (a) As used in this section, “digital firearm manufacturing code” shall
360 mean any digital instructions in the form of computer-aided design files or other code or
361 instructions stored and displayed in electronic format as a digital model that may be used to
362 program a computer numerical control milling machine, a 3-dimensional printer or a similar
363 machine to manufacture, assemble or produce a firearm, rifle, shotgun or completed or
364 unfinished frame or receiver.

If grandfathering is allowed many of those who are given special status will certainly not fight as hard for the rights of others.
Yep. We're seeing this already, as the subtext of a number of posts in this very thread.
Kinda sounds like a newer version of a FUDD to me!

I could move to Maine literally tomorrow, trying to decide between there or CO though

Maine was on the list, I have some friends in Knox. Absolutely beautiful place. I've never been to CO, but I had a coworker who moved to a town outside Denver and is really happy.

I know that this is getting a bit off topic but, I like Maine and as everyone should be aware of the fact that most of their laws mirror Mass. 1. Hometown Rule, where the city or town can make By-Laws or Ordinances stricter than the state law. 2. Legislation by Referendum, where laws are made by a popular vote, where the population centers rule the state. 3. Income Tax. 5. Sales Tax. and 6. Rank Choice voting. Those are just the more upfront ones.

I live in New Hampshire.

I was late to the hobby didn't start until 10/16. I should finish a build today and E-FA-10. At this point what the f*** does it matter.

Thanks for posting.

So 10ronds isn’t safe enough so they go to 5 now?
My head is spinning with “semi-automatic AW”, pistols are included in this garbage?

What the hell happens to Form1 SBRs?
91 an automatic firearm; and (iv) a semiautomatic shotgun that has at least 2 of the following: (a) a
92 folding or telescoping stock; (b) a pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of
93 the weapon; (c) a fixed magazine capacity in excess of 5 rounds; or (d) an ability to accept a
94 detachable magazine;
The 5 round is for semiauto shotguns.

However, the California end around of pump ARs won't work since a receiver is a firearm and any AR receiver is a copy or duplicate of the enumerated guns.
105 ...; provided further, that a weapon shall be
106 considered a copy or duplicate of a weapon identified in subclauses (a) to (i), inclusive, of clause
107 (i) if: (I)(a) the weapon is a semiautomatic rifle or handgun that was manufactured or
108 subsequently configured with an ability to accept a detachable magazine; or (b) a semiautomatic
109 shotgun; and (II) the weapon has internal functional components that are substantially similar in
110 construction and configuration to a weapon identified in said subclauses (a) to (i), inclusive, of
111 said clause (i) or the weapon has a receiver that is the same as or interchangeable with the
112 receiver of a weapon identified in said subclauses (a) to (i), inclusive, of said clause (i);

Definition of firearm is still FUBAR
138 “Firearm”, a stun gun, pistol, revolver or other weapon of any description, loaded or
139 unloaded, that will, is designed to, or may readily be converted to, discharge a shot or bullet
140 other than by compressed air and of which the length of the barrel or barrels is less than 16
141 inches or, in the case of a shotgun as originally manufactured, is less than 18 inches; provided,
142 however, that “firearm” shall also include the completed or unfinished frame or receiver of any
143 such weapon.
This also leaves CO2 handguns in limbo - precharged pneumatic is not a firearm but CO2 is not air so it might be a firearm.

But rifles are fine since the barrel is >=16"

233 “Valid serial number”, a serial number that has been imprinted by a federal licensee
234 authorized to serialize firearms in accordance with federal law or that has otherwise been
235 assigned to a firearm, rifle, shotgun or completed or unfinished frame or receiver pursuant to the
236 laws of any state or pursuant to 26 U.S.C. 5842 and the regulations promulgated thereunder.
Since you are authorized, but not required, to serialize your personally manufactured firearms as long as the markings meet ATF regulation, you would just need a federal license which a collectors license should suffice.

Why would they bother trying to enforce it?

They know most people will just comply, mindlessly. They also know the rest of us, who won't comply, aren't adding to the crime stats. So they're not worried about us.

This is virtue signaling.
The only enforcement will come when being jammed up in the courts. Guns gone, PP status, fines paid, the machine rolls on. But make no mistake you will be charged with these new “crimes” just like they do now.
So, yeah, "in Georgia" - and happy with my, (and my wife's) decision to move here. I *KNOW* it's not the right decision for everyone - it's been good for me.
Trust me when I say this: NES knows…

If GOAL and COMM2A each had zero dollars in their bank accounts they would be paper tigers. If GOAL and COMM2A each had a Billion dollars in their bank accounts they could file and support lawsuits at will.

It will be up to us to determine what the mean number is.
Well said. The number of people I talk to who say "well, when GOAL and COMM2A win at the Supreme Court, THEN I'll join and send them a check" just makes me facepalm.

That's not how any of this works.

Too bad we don’t have any billionaires funding campaigns for conservatives running and if they do they are RINOS on board with the agenda.

How many tried and got a knock knock at home by some thugs giving the wink wink with an offer you can’t refuse. We just saw it with Lake you need to take a 2 year pause from running cuz Rich men north of Richmond by a “Republican” no less.

Look at what happened to Mayor Adams one of their own.
Ask yourself what is the world view of the republican party?
How does that fit with your own view of the purpose and depth of government?

I would posit that what you consider a RINO is actually a person that closely fits the current world view of the republican party and those you would consider loyal republicans are actually classical libertarians who value a hierarchy of persons over state and state over federal power.

Yeah, I have HK pattern SBRs that I'm wondering about.
You have it legally in the state now therefore it would be covered by amendment 11 (assuming this makes it past the joint committee)

94 ...; provided, however, that “assault weapon” shall not include: ...
(H) any weapon lawfully possessed in the Commonwealth prior to the passage of this act;

For sure- everyone needs to donate something. I'm current with all of them and made donations this weekend. Let me know if I'm missing any FPC, GOAL,NRA, Comm2A, GOA
