MA Gun Grab 2024: H.4885 - Passed legislature, headed to the governor

Call me a nut case but how bout two fully funded ones?

I have a better idea! How about 15 fully funded ones? Why not 25? 378? Shit, we should have 500,000 fully funded organizations, one for each LTC holder! We'll drown them in lawsuits!

Because "fully funded" requires money. A single organization can do the job better than two each with half the resources.

Having a strategic approach to lawsuits is critical, or you end up with duplicated efforts, or worse, actions that hurt the cases of the other.

Comm2A is good at what they do, GOAL has no experience there.

I’m thinking it has more to do with GOAL redirecting resources to fund litigation. Currently, I believe they are paying lobbyists (I saw this on their website) but perhaps they are going to stop that and send that money to help pay for lawyers.

I do believe that GOAL as a lobbying group has very little ability to change things with the current politicians in MA. However, their education and advocacy work still needs be funded. I know that many of us have benefitted from @JGreen in some way, shape or form. Pretty much everyone under 50 has been taught a class by Jon or someone taught by Jon.

I saw Mike Harris at the post office the other day and after checking to make sure it was him, I thanked him for his work. I don’t want them to get discouraged since it must feel like they are spitting (pissing) into the wind constantly.

You cut out all the middle men and go right to the source. There are two things you should walk away with when watching Rudolf the red nose reindeer is that when Cornelius states that the bumble (governing body) is harmless without its teeth (Staties) and vice versa. The other thing is, keep and eye on Cornelius as I think he's been out in the snow to long just going by the way he gets down on that hammer.

Understand - they only have the power we give them in our support.
Gun owners simply don't show up so they have very little power.
They get money from a lot of folks, some that probably don't have a lot of extra money to give. Money is where the power is. So, I don't care about the showing up part that people keep squawking about. Rallies aren't fixing this, they hate us, it's simple.

Instead of sitting down with lawmakers and trying to explain things, tell them to EABOD and file a lawsuit already.

For years as a kid, every time he licked the pickaxe, I thought "Peppermint". I thought it was something I was making up for no known reason. Then, a few years ago, I read an article that said that the first year it was shown he finally pulled it out of the ground and did say "Peppermint!", as he had been looking the whole time for a peppermint mine. Turns out that scene was cut after the first year to make room for the closing scene where they go get the lost toys, but I had seen it that first time when I was 6, and never understood why I was missing it for years after.

Well, this thread has certainly wandered off topic.

I don't disagree that we're outnumbered, but the people that care about taking away our rights are more organized than we are.

It helps that they have a receptive audience, but I can tell you first hand that they just play the game better.
We are out numbered and out financed, Big time.
The left is playing the long game and have the $$$$ to do it. As someone mentioned, it's death by a 1000 cuts. They are looking for the time where the SC flips and green lights all the laws they want.

The next presidential election could determine the course of the Supreme Court.

This is the reason I think the commies will do anything to stop Trump (or anyone not chosen by them) in November.
The Pols showing how bad Brandon is doing is telling the commies just how much cheating they actually have to do. Down 10 points? We need ten million more votes in ______. (Insert name of blue city in swing state)

I don't believe ANY Poll, either showing Trump up or showing Trump down.

I agree with the overall sentiment that the are doing good work and should be appreciated for what they do. In the spirit of constructive feedback I'd love to see a separate GOAL fund specifically for legislative engagement (lobbying).

I would gladly pay (and I hope many of you would as well) hundreds of dollars a year to fund their orchestration of multiple lobbying firms. It can't just be one shop. It needs to be multiple firms led by people who were "in the club".

I would like to see GOAL set up a PAC, which I would gladly contribute to. I've suggested this here in the past but it has been met with disagreement.
