It’s still up for me. I just see it with critical comments that point out what 11.1 did filtered out as “irrelevant”.

Email from Patrick O’Connor:

“Good Afternoon,

I’m emailing you because you have reached out to me in the past few weeks to share your concerns with gun bill before the legislature. I wanted you to know that I heard you and kept your thoughts and perspective in mind when I voted against this legislation.

In addition to my strong opposition to the Senate President’s unprecedented choice to not hold a public hearing, I chose not to support this bill due to the questionable constitutionality of certain provisions (namely, lack of total grandfathering for existing assault weapons and vicarious liability), and its lack of stiffer penalties for illegal firearms. I felt that this bill did not adequately address gun violence, so I submitted a substitute amendment that struck the entire language of the bill and replaced it with commonsense provisions that narrowly target illegal firearms that fully protects Massachusetts’ citizens’ 2nd Amendment rights.

I remain hopeful that the legislation that comes out of Conference Committee will contain commonsense reforms that respect our constitutional rights while actually addressing the root of gun violence in our state – the illegal possession and illegal use of firearms.

Thank you again for reaching out on this issue. Please feel free to reach out if I can help you or your family in the future.

Best,
Patrick O’Connor

State Senator“

Lost me at common sense. Anything less than I won’t support this illegal unconstitutional bullshit is ………bullshit.

Can someone elaborate on grandfathering/ownership of pre 94 rifles relating to this bill?
Sure thing.

Apparently to most gun owners, if there is grandfathering, this bill is acceptable. So, sure enough, I guess there will be grandfathering. What about your other gun rights? Well, those go right into the shitter. But, hey, grandfathering.

Now, the next pos gun bill they ram in your anus, will that have grandfathering? Maybe, but I doubt it.
