When all the COVID 🐒 were dropping off, looks like this bill is attrackting new ones.

Is NES part of the panic buy?

"OMG, new bill, must create NES account, read nothing, sh*t my pants and get offended (monkey noise)".
Is that not the plan? I thought it was the plan! I have some calls t make :)

Email from Patrick O’Connor:

“Good Afternoon,

I’m emailing you because you have reached out to me in the past few weeks to share your concerns with gun bill before the legislature. I wanted you to know that I heard you and kept your thoughts and perspective in mind when I voted against this legislation.

In addition to my strong opposition to the Senate President’s unprecedented choice to not hold a public hearing, I chose not to support this bill due to the questionable constitutionality of certain provisions (namely, lack of total grandfathering for existing assault weapons and vicarious liability), and its lack of stiffer penalties for illegal firearms. I felt that this bill did not adequately address gun violence, so I submitted a substitute amendment that struck the entire language of the bill and replaced it with commonsense provisions that narrowly target illegal firearms that fully protects Massachusetts’ citizens’ 2nd Amendment rights.

I remain hopeful that the legislation that comes out of Conference Committee will contain commonsense reforms that respect our constitutional rights while actually addressing the root of gun violence in our state – the illegal possession and illegal use of firearms.

Thank you again for reaching out on this issue. Please feel free to reach out if I can help you or your family in the future.

Best,
Patrick O’Connor

State Senator“

He works hard for it, that's for sure, and has for many years. I remember when he was basically just a kid pounding the pavement handing out flyers and talking to anyone who would listen. Years later he would still be going door to door. Lots of people on the south shore respect that old school approach, and the fact that he's pretty reasonable by MA political standards goes a long way.

Ok so you're slow too I see. I provided real input in my post.
1. You're to cheap to buy a membership to support NES, but you take advantage of what NES has to offer. You know, typical free shit army behavior.
2. You're disrespectful.
3. A vetting process would eliminate big mouth, fools like you.
This is valuable and quality input.
As for inbreeding, you're mom doesn't seem to object to my breeding.

Can someone clarify what is supposed to happen with these now banned items, AR etc? Is there a requirement to destroy or turn them in? The wording states that there is no grandfathering so even if you purchased before the AG ban you are now out of compliance unless you have a pre-94 lower, I don’t see how this can be legal. I understand everyone is heated and wants to point fingers, but I just want to know what this means while we await any potential legal action against it.
Did anyone ever answer this? I haven't seen anything definitive amidst the poop flinging. The bill is full of "Oh yeah, let's ban this too!" but I haven't picked up on how they are actually going to actively enforce it. Otherwise it will be the same old latent thuggery that they enforce only upon easy opportunities, as in arrests for something else gets the gun grab add-ons.

I’m not the one who needs a thicker skin bud. The cucks and inbreds in this forum who are keyboard warriors do.

This forum is full of joking and poking fun at each other. But reading your replies, this is what I pictured you to be like: IMG_9185.gif

Bottom line to your original question. Big boy rules. If something you own becomes illegal, you cannot be charged for possession prior to the law passing, but you, yourself, need to figure out what you’re going to do.

The law won’t tell you. You either keep it in state and ignore the law, store it out of state, or get rid of it somehow.

There are multiple ways to get rid of it. I’m sure the state will issue memos telling you options and amnesty turn-ins like they did with the bump stock/trigger crank ban. But always be skeptical of amnesty claims by the state. They’re allowed to lie to you.

That stuff is rarely told to residents until after the law is passed.

I wonder if the “Chiefs” realize that many of their officers are “not” very suitable under the umbrella of LE. We have seen many occurrences that they aren’t. But it’s projection onto the general populace.
Not all chiefs are either. I remember a little issue with a former COP in my town. You know, getting caught trying to meat up with an underage boy, driving his work vehicle.

Hold it or get rid of it.

You only have 2 choices. Read the bill. Read the law when it is signed. Decide what to do.

If you are looking for someone to tell you what to do, Call the .gov or pay a lawyer. Again, two choices.

By adulthood, this type of decision making should already have been learned.

It has been answered in multiple posts in this thread. As it is now we are split between "everything pre-94 is banned" and "everything post 2016 is banned". I am of the opinion that the final bill will grandfather everything up to when it is enacted (August?), but it might be wishful thinking.

Short answer - we dont know yet.

Don't take it so personally. Like a lot of other gun sites with a general discussion area, their basically a free for all with minimum rules and has it's ups, downs, cliques and games but for the most part it's not bad once you get thru the chaff and pick out the few pearls of wisdom this clam bed throws up now and then. I will admit, some treat it like a prison using time served, post counts and feed back to determine yelling "New fish" so the piranhas know when it's dinnertime.

No- the question of how will they enforce has not been answered. I'm not asking what will be banned nor what is the cut off. There are a lot of inane details in the bill but I have not seen the particulars regarding enforcement action. For example, 'funding for 3am no-knock raids' followed by 'funding for widows of 3am raiders'. [laugh]

Now, now... be nice. They have no idea and there are no proposals in any of the two bills on the subject. My question to you though is - do you happen to have an F16 by any chance? Asking for a friend... :p
