Marlboro March 29th and 30th Show

Yup. I agree with the Duck Dynasty look-alikes. But while looking kind of disheveled, all those guys seemed to be clean/washed and didn't smell bad at all.
Hey, it ain't easy to pull off the duck dynasty look on a daily basis. Eating the right combination of foods and hygiene management to get that woodsy aroma is a backwoods artform. Y'all should show some respect! [rofl]

Got real scared when there was a long line outside still at 10am. There wasn't too bad of a crowd inside though. It was damn hot inside.

My fun find was a box of 30-30 Winchester ammo for $89. Tombstone had S&W shields for $399. My daughter was looking for a 38 snubby but had trouble parting with the cash for what was on hand. My only purchase was a bag of jerky.

Stopped in with my son for the last 1.5 hours.

Let him pick out a knife and found one I liked; the cheapies, 2 for $20.
He was thrilled but the Mrs. not so much.....[wink]

Bought some meat sticks and almost took home a really nice 70's vintage Crossman 760 that reminded me of my youth...but let it stay.

No shortage of 5.56 ammo - what did you guys think of price by case...?

This show was meh to me, but I couldn't find anything I was looking for. Powder was really light. I did end up with a nice Comm 2A t-shirt though.

The Glock guy wasn't at the show, I found that a lot of the vendors had moved around from the past few shows. Saw a really great AK-47 made out of shovel, but it wasn't for sale at any price :(

I bought 3 Crosman air rifles for $5. The guy said he was told they all had issues. 2 of the 3 seem to work perfectly. They are a little rough but that is a project for another day. Got some weird looks on the way back to the car carrying 3 rifles.

had a good time myself, got a comm2a shirt, some NRA raffle tickets, 2 LPK's ($60 each) and I picked up a 1944 M1895 nagant revolver with ammo and a holster from someone on here for $150. One question, did the lady selling the 30 rd sks Pmags (and a newish 100 rd drum) not know about our assinine laws or was she only selling to free staters there? I almost bought them anyway, JIC but i decided to be legal instead

Mere possession within the Commiewealth is a felony! Even a felony for a non-MA dealer to have them (not so for a MA Licensed dealer).

ETA: NRs even can not legally buy/possess any large cap mags in MA even if pre-ban!!

It's greed, where else can they get $40-50 for a $12 retail mag (Free America price) when they tell you it's pre-ban (it isn't).

My fun find was a box of 30-30 Winchester ammo for $89.

Was the dealer wearing a mask?

Or how big was the box? [laugh]

Almost bought a Bryco Jennings J-9 but then i remembered how much I enjoy having 2 hands that work.

Saw a CAI? Uzi carbine for $775, bucks with no mags. Wasn't sure if it was a good deal or not, I know the IMI's go for close to 2k though. No luck finding hk usp c 40 cal mags. Got a range bag for 20 bucks that was about it.

I think that is a free-state UZI e.g. folding stock.

you must have missed the lady selling the knives for $2 each. due to the fact that no two of them looked the same and they where all used I was betting that they bought up the TSA knife bowl or something.

That was my first gun show and I was pretty happy with it..Ended up with a wasr Ak and a Rossi cowboy action rifle both at what I think are pretty good prices

I was a little freaked out with some of the talk about BO here on the boards...first 20 minutes of the show no smells at all...Then it started..Seems the people who stink also like to force themselves next to you when you are looking at something..This is no slight under arm odor this is full blown stink!!! WTH is wrong with some people leaving the house like that

I also found it odd that as soon as you picked up a gun it was like yelling "I found free money" I had two people get right up on us as we checked out the Rossi and two more follow us to the end of the paper work table to make sure we were buying it...Odd to say for sure

A guy at my gym, he's around 30, you can smell him 25 feet away and that's when he walks into the gym, before working out. Worst smelling person I've every seen in my life. There is no way he could smell that way from no deodorant, he's not taking showers. I bet he might take 1 or 2 showers a week and he works out at least 5 days. Last week he cam near me and I told him 'you stink dude, you need to use deodorant, you really stink'. Just looked at me obliviously and walked away. Next day stunk as bad or worse. The whole gym knows him, everyone walks away when he goes near them, walks the long way to other machines to avoid him, etc.

Sweat through a shirt working out, then put it in a zip lock bag for a month. Pull it out and it still smells better than stinky from my gym.

Uh ohh. ^ this must be stinky from the gym?

I got a cheap picatinny laser mount and bought a fenix ld12 and modified it today to make it work. Works great on my AR. Also got a noveske keymod QD swivel attachment.

I also picked up an Obsidian BCG from TR-Enabling. I have to say this is my 3rd BCG from them and they are amazing. They clean easier than anything I have seen and you can literally feel the friction reduction between standard BCG's.

Thats a link of what I got. Will test fire next weekend but im sure it will be great!

Hey, good running into you there and gratz on the new revolver. This mag issue had me stumped as well. one guy way at the left end as you came in had all sorts of 30 rd AR mags that looked questionable. The thermolds looked brand new. Anyway, i picked up 3 from the guy that had the New Old Stock internals in Colt bodies. Seemed to be in great shape.

95% of the guns i looked at were overpriced. i didn't really see many people buying them and the ammo was worse.

I worked this show and I had some old crust who basically crop dusted the end of the booth I was working at. It was nasty. It was so bad that after he waddled away anyone that approached the area for the next minute or two recoiled sllightly and then moved away.

There are always a few weirdos at these things. We had a guy one row over who kept yelling across the hall trying to get his friend's attention, but instead of it sounding like a human name it more resembled something like a sea lion grunting at maximum volume. Everyone within 100 feet of the guy turned to look at him, that's how ****ed up sounding it was.

Basically after 2008/Obamascare 1 the average gun show patron demographic changed completely. Vendors have changed their prices accordingly. The core target is not enthusiasts anymore, and the market is not as soft as it was 10 years ago. Based on what I've seen in the past few years, I can't blame them... would you give something away if you knew that someone would pay you a lot more for it, on average? I wish people would stop complaining about the prices, as if somehow, they are going to go back to the way they used to be- that's simply not happening. If you don't want gun show prices then don't go.

Although, I will say this much- there was a lot of tire kicking and window shopping the past 2 days, and it had nothing to do with gun or ammo prices. People just weren't buying as much as they did before, I think it's because they all blew their wads at Wilmington or at gun shops between getting their tax refund and now. One guy I was talking to who sells knives said like over 50% of his transactions were with plastic, whereas when he did Wilmington far more was cash based. That tells me people in the area have "spent their wad"

I go to the show to browse. Gun Porn is Gun Porn. Im usually upfront with them though so I dont waste their time. " Im not buying I just want to drool. " I did find some decent ammo deals for bulk 7.62 stuff and .45 ACP was still cheaper than dicks so I jumped on those.

Also about prices: If you show up and just pay what they ask, you're doing exactly the wrong thing. Most vendors dont might a reasonable haggle as long as you arent a lowballing scumbag. I find the process actually helps you build rapport and you may make a buddy.

Donated to Com2A
Purchased half pound of beef jerkey
Purchased 40 rounds of 6.5x55
Purchased splatter targets for my son,who patiently walked around the tables twice with me.
The two revolver I had with me for "barter" never left my bag.

i get the "new normal" but I was there at 2 pm on Sunday and was thinking what a pain it must be to pack up everything you brought. I'm not complaining about prices because i do my homework. it was just an observation. The sellers can do whatever they want, and they want to charge a lot more than I was willing to pay.

I also workd the show and definately agree with this. Lots of tire kicking and not much cash was on hand.
