Why not have one massive thread devoted to nothing but milsurps and new milsurp acquisitions?

I'll start it off after dinner.

Meh... couldn't get the camera charged fast enough b/c it took me an hour to find the charger. I'll start it tomorrow.

Milsurps, if you want to email me your pictures I could probably host them.

I was just looking through some of my photobucket shots. It'd take me a while to get them all together. Most of them have been posted here already. I'll stick with posting new milsurps in the new acquisitions threads, after all, they're just as worthy as any new EBR.[wink]
Here are a few of my favs though:

Nice collection. I like the Makarov and of course the SKS. Thank you for saving me some $$$ because I was so close to buying it.[smile]
The SKS is a very interesting rifle for me and many others. Once you get a few you'll find you want more variations. Welcome to your new addiction.[wink]

Damn it you were right...this SKS is a BLAST! I can see exactly what you were warning me about...addiction!! Now I need to stock up on ammo! The Bulgarian Mak was my very first Milsurp "purchase" the Radom and 1911 were gifts many years ago. I love the Mak it is a dream to shoot. Here is a better picture with Dennis Marschal grips.

JonJ... Just a heads up, there was recently a thread on the gunboards forum where someone was selling original Chinese Type 53 slings with thong ties. Original slings are rare! Just though I'd pass along the info in case you frequent GB. If I find the link I'll PM it to you.

Thanks Ray but I found 2 a few months ago. One of them has markings the other doesn't. The ones I have have dog collars. Got a deal on them from a guy in FL.
I saw the GB ad, I think they were $15 each, a good deal for anyone that needs them.

When its wintertime I hope to see some Mosins in the snow.

And another great pic idea would be a MAS 36 lying partially covered by dirt, fully loaded.

As cool as it may look to have a battlefield pick up type scenario portrayed, you'll never see any of my rifles covered in dirt.
As for Mosins in the snow, I've done a set. You've got a camera, your backyard is the canvas, get some shots when the time comes![wink]

My backyard is in a relatively tightly populated area of Boston/Brighton so that's out.

And the MAS36 isn't really a battlefield pickup idea as much as a battlefield drop idea.
