New Acquisitions for April 2013

My wife traded her 642 Airweight for this Smith & Wesson Model 36 (plus some cash).

Had some folks on the S&W forum check it out and they believe it's a 1971-72 based on the pinned barrel and "floating J" serial number. Shoots great and she says it carries just as well as the 642.

I'm sure my new EDC needs no introduction.

Psyched that my new Slim-Line ETC grips from VZ Grips arrived... not so psyched I forgot that I also need universal bushings and screws to fit the slimmer profile. Also not psyched that these are back-ordered, oh well!

Nice grips, I love mine. That stinks about the bushings. Hopefully you can get them soon.

[FONT="]Picked this Ruger Standard up on Easter weekend at M&M Plimoth Bay Outfitters. Have been looking for something in the Ruger MK series and although this is a 1971 Standard, not MK1, and has been definitely used, ended up being a fine purchase at $185. Did a full tear down and cleaning (thanks youtube) and put 100 flawless rounds down range. I wish I had bought one of these sooner, lots of fun.

Love the old style Ruger 22s. I'd have grabbed that in a second if I knew it was there.

I emailed them. We shall see what they say. [wink]

Wow. Thanks! No 1911 yet but I'd still be IN for a pair when I do. Do they make other grips as well?

Just looked, so I can get them for my J-Frame, Hi Power, and CZ-75. And VZ just became my favorite aftermarket handgun company.

Damn you live up to your title! I thought about volunteering for a second but then I was like too much work and I've got some classes starting next month... Bravo for your hardwork!

NO worries. Hopefully something will come out of it. [wink]

I love the 1 pair I bought for my 1911. I would definitely buy more if we could get a discount. They have a tab on their website that says, "how to become a dealer." So I am guessing I MIGHT be able to 'become a dealer' like I did with FourSevens, and get a very nice discount. Stay tuned.

Idk. I'll try and get some low light shooting in next week. I can't wait. I'd imagine its no more blinding than your flashlight is to your night vision

Is the flash at night disorientating with the compensated model?
You'll get opinions both ways. I think that myth has mostly been debunked. If there's concern I've heard of using powders with less flash. However I do throw in a Storm Lake unported barrel when carrying, just to be on the safe side.

I scored a win....picked up a great deal on a NIB FNH SCAR 16 FDE off of all places gunbroker.com for $2700...then spent what I saved hanging ornaments on the Xmas tree so to speak.....Aimpoint 3X Magnifier with an Aimpoint Comp 4, Geiselle Super SCAR two stage trigger, Promoted Pawn Extended Rails, Promoted Pawn Rail to replace front sight, Tactical Link Single Point Bungee Sling, GGG Charging Lever and rear QD sling mount, Magpul SSR selector, Tangodown BG-17 grip and short foregrip, and Tangodown aluminum stock latch. http://i1348.photobucket.com/albums/p725/Beecher_Tool/photo99_zps846ccda4.jpg
