New Acquisitions for January 2013

Introducing the new baby in my CCW collection: The Springfield XDs. [smile] I've been wanting one since they debuted and the reviews on them were flawless so I had to have one. What sucks is that I don't have the time right now to shoot it but it feels incredible. I can't believe how thin it is, maybe I'm so used to my double stack 19 and SR9c. Range report will be up when I get there. Here's some first night porn. (shitty iPhone pics)

I'm jealous, good luck with it!

Sweet! Congrats. A member at my club let me shoot his. Very thin. Shot well. I was impressed with it.

I'm so jealous, I want ONE!

Nice, let me know how it compares to your old G36. I could never fall in love with my XDs which is why I sold it, but hopefully you enjoy yours - they are very well made and are a great size (very slim like you said)

how does a little ATF suit you, gents?

girlfriend and i put this together last night, it's going to be "her" rifle as she needs something lighter and shorter than all my current rifles. had her punch in the pins while i held the punch in place and in all honesty she got them as perfect as i've ever seen in an AR. i'm going to have her do all my builds from now on since i swing a hammer like a drunken monkey and always feel like i am building an AK.

the rest of the upper parts arrive monday, so next weekend we're going to finish this pig up.

Sweet! Would love to fire it side-by-side with the 36 for comparison.

Nice banana man. Midnight Moon is good stuff, eating those cherries will make you black out, easier for guys to have their way with you atilla.

it's already easy for... wait a goddamn second!

we have the cinnamon moon out right now, strawberry is in the fridge, along with the cherry stuff from another manufacturer. one day we sat around on the couch and ate the cherries all afternoon. i don't think we were drunk.

That Strawberry one is 102 proof IIRC. No joke there haha. And is the other manufacturer like Old Smoky? Is that brand any good?

And thanks Ted. The 36 was too bulky for me. I tried to love it but I ended up trading it for a Gen4 19. The XDs is gorgeous though. We will shoot together soon enough.

yeah, i think it's old smoky. we can't figure out how to get drunk from their product though. i tried pouring out the liquid and drinking it but all i did was stain my countertop and get all nasty and sticky (typical thursday in my house), and then as i'd mentioned we'd tried eating a bunch of the cherries. didn't feel even particularly buzzed afterwards so the stuff lives in the fridge for friends to try. the strawberry is much better although it is still sticky. would prefer to throw actual fruit in their "original" concoction, honestly. then again when i drink i just pour shots of warm vodka so maybe i'm just simple/a purist/a raging drunk.

Actual pics of my M&P 15-22 that I picked up last weekend (December, I know... sorry). Threw some leftover XTM rail panels on it and adjusted the stock length to fit me better.

Picked up this beauty today after work at Four Seasons. Was looking for a 4" but couldn't pass it up. First wheel gun! Can't wait to get them both to the range.

Love the 686 Alex! I think you will really be glad you bought the 6" model

Thanks Al. It is going to be for range use so the added barrel length will be better for accuracy I would imagine. This also means I need to add a 4" version of it to my collection in the future [smile]

Alex, try shooting 38 specials through that revolver and it will be like shooting a 22! And, yes you know you need a 4" version as well [smile]
