New Acquisitions for July 2009!

Oooh, a proof marked P228. Looked like someone hard chromed it, too. It is unusual to see the frame HCed because most places refuse to do it due to the risk of destroying the frame in the process.

I hour drive each way to pick up 1k WSP (Riley's is limiting sales to 1k/person/type/day). My wife shot up the last of my 9mm at the NEShooters women only course last weekend.

They have primers again? They were wiped out last weekend.

228? Looks like a 225 to me. Regardless, the gun, hard chromed, with those nill grips... it's DEAD SEXY. [smile]

Yes, you're right... it is a P225. I should know better- the P228 has a rounded trigger guard.

I've always had the Beretta 92FS on my list... But I just never really got around to picking one up. I've also always thought, "how cool would it be to have the real one instead?... the M9... mmm".......

Then, when I'm not looking... a Beretta M9 shows up on my computer screen! I wasn't prepared for this at all... but I needed it [smile]

I do some thinking... some typing... some driving... and suddenly... it's in my hands [smile]

This little guy is in great condition... and shoots like a dream. I couldn't be happier.

Happy July to me! [grin]

I believe the SIG 225 has a Robar NP3 finish (at least that's what was on the box, if I recall correctly). Very nice handling gun, congrats for beating me to the punch.

Hanwei, that's a great looking M9! I've got a 92FS, but wish I'd held out for the M9 just for the cool factor. Great pics, as usual.

From the reading I've done, there are no functional differences. Only cosmetic.

M9
1. Has straight dust cover
2. Has non radius backstrap
3. Has half moon rear sight, dot front
4. Does not have "Warning read manual" paragraph stamped on the side of the slide.

92FS
1. Has angled dust cover
2. Has backstrap with a radius
3. Has 3-dot sights
4. Has "Warning" paragraph stamped on the slide.

Great Gun! and even better pictures! I have an M9 as well and it is my favorite semi auto pistol that I own. You made a good choice.

Also the M9 has Assembly Numbers stamped on the frame, slide and hammer.

Ahh interesting!

I just found this video M9 vs 92FS and he mentions everything you listed, except the warnings on the side.

I might have to get one soon...

That shotty is awesome. I like the fact that you don’t have the muzzle break. You don’t need to waste expensive ammo to breach the door when you have a knife to pick the lock. Very stealthy too!

Just messing around, the shot gun is very nice looking, did it come out of the box like that or did it already have work done to it?

It's stock, save for the bayonet which I had already. Apparently they just started putting the speed feed stocks on them at the factory, I guess.

The stainless/synthetic is the new one.
The 10/22 T is getting a Volquartsen trigger assembly. Then I will put its current smooth ~5lb trigger into the new stainless carbine, along with tech sites and a GI sling.

Here is a question: What do you do with the ruger rear site after installing tech sites?

SJan, do you have the metal or plastic trigger group in the T? I heard the VQ kit requires some minor modification or a different piece for the newer, plastic versions. Or that could be the auto-bolt release, not 100% on that...something to look into anyway haha.

its an older model with all metal parts so im not anticipating any issues. when the parts come in and i swap everything around ill post it on the 10/22 thread
