I'm no expert on these, but I think that they may have issued a limited run for each state.

They issued 100 total 2 for each state.

I'm no expert either I was standing on the side of him when he bought it on the tour IIRC I think the guy at the S&W store said he had the other one.

I did a little research with google, and also found another for sale at gunbroker, i think there was 100 made with Massachusetts engraved on the barrel, some states had more.

Yes you heard right, he did say that there was only two made with the MA "text", but
I have seen internet images of other WTU commemorative with other state text and i recall it saying 1 of 300.
The one I purchased says 1 of 100 - so there should be 100 with just the MA text
