Nighthawks!

Since we're all just showing off high end 1911s now, here's my $2400 masterpiece:

Wait, I think I added an extra zero by accident...
looks like this one actually had hit something, and probably more then once. :)

an every time i feel an itch to get a staccato, it means i need to get my shadows and go out shoot them, to remind myself how much better they are than i am. :)

Nighthawk is pretty good and shoots well too. That said, Atlas is an entire level above that! If I wasn't on a fixed income, I'd be putting down on a new Atlas. Those guns are something else!

Ok folks. Tell me Nighthawks SUCK and they are nowhere worth the cost! Go ahead. Tell me! Come on! Save a buddy $4000. I’d do it for you!

So they suck, right?

This is what I fondled earlier today. Now I need to keep telling myself they suck.

Is a $4000 gun twice as good as a $2000 gun? Or four times better than a $1000 gun?

No, there are diminishing returns on performance as you go up in price. It mainly goes up in cosmetics and fit.
This. Diminishing returns. Is my Wilson nicer than my Kimber? Yes. Is it twice as nice? Well, that’s a matter of opinion. Both are still 1911s, with all that entails, good and bad.

As someone who’s into 1911’s and has spent time on the night hawk web site I like it 😁 but if I was spending $4000 I would probly want to order from one from them exactly the way I wanted it (maybe stainless, certain sites, trigger pad ect) that being said for that kind of money I would want to have a use for it such as a shooting sport/game /club competition /bullseye. where it got used on a regular basis, it would be a shame to spend that kind of money to shoot it once or twice and put it in a safe. If you can afford it are into 1911’s and will run it hard go for it.. if its a toy u bring to the range a few times maybe flex on the poors then put it in storage cause another shiny toy caught your eye it’s kinda a waste … their well made guns ment to be used/enjoyed

^100%

i'm a fair to middling shot. Unless I am a competitive shooter and 1mm makes the difference between winning and losing, no way in hell am I dropping $4000 on a pistol. Sorry, just me and a couple of Bentwater Thunderfunks talking....

As long as the barrel fit is good and the sear/hammer pin holes aren’t crooked, you can get a lot of performance increase by spending $250-300 on a new ignition kit and inline porting, and a new trigger if the stock trigger doesn’t fit your finger length.

Meh, nothing that interests me, just a status symbol and expensive range toy, plus I won't own any handguns with safeties, but that is just me.
So you only have revolvers?

The Nighthawk looks nice, but when saw the thread title I thought it was about 1980s Honda motorcycles.

I would never spend that much on a gun that shoots just like one that's one tenth the price, but it's pretty. If I plunked down $4,000 I'd be pissed if it came in a $15 zipper case with pick-and-pluck foam.

Those were great bikes! My buddy and I worked part-time as movers and saved enough to buy a brand new Nighthawks each. We spent the summer of 1984 doing a loop around America. I would have never been able to do that on a Harley. Those Nighthawks we did not fail us once! Oh, to be young again...

Um, they make striker-fired pistols, Sig 226s/229s, etc. without safeties.

Just curious but what is the price range on those alpha 2011s?
Its going to vary of course as a true custom gun would, but expect to pay a lot more than a Stacatto, a little less than an Atlas.
If someone were to Google 'alpha 2011' they wouldn't find the one man shop in Monson MA. Doc has little online presence, but his gunsmithing reputation and word of mouth is keeping his business very busy. Alpha Precision, LLC | Monson MA

.02 cents.

I have a Nighthawk Agent 2 and Staccato XC, while they are both nice I much prefer the Staccato. If you're going to spend that kind of coin, have some patients and order something specific to your tastes (colors, grips, threaded barrel, optics cut, engravings).

Of course that is true. And if you can afford $160k for a Porsche 911, good for you. But a $35k Camry will also get you from point A to point B.
Boooring…..

I’m a car/gun guy

Sure I can shoot a Ruger pistol and drive a Toyota Yaris.

But nope!!
