So far so good. Now a trigger job?? The jig, tools and parts are at Midway for about 200 bucks. That's a lot of money but the jig and tools last forever.

A couple months ago a guy at my club showed me his new S&W 1911. It was straight from the factory and I was pretty impressed. The barrel lock was seriously solid, and, surprisingly, the trigger was just about perfect -- I wouldn't bother with a trigger job on his gun.

My new 1911. One trip to the range and I'm hooked on this thing.

I honestly don't know how anyone can fire a 1911 and NOT be hooked. I always loved the looks of them but never REALLY wanted one until I shot one. I know mine doesn't even slightly compare to all the others posted here but here's a picture of my AMT Hardballer. After a trip to the smith it fires very reliably and accurately. I added some cocobolo grips to dress it up a little too.

6. Para Ordnance P-14 This is pretty tricked out as is but I'm thinking of putting a 6 in. S&W .40 slide/barrel on it and a few other goodies to turn it into an open gun for USPSA

Not a fancy gun. I call this one "Low Capacity Self Defense" because, well, that's what it is, and that's what I use it for.

It's a Colt Series 80......just not the right caliber:

Sorry about the flash, it makes the gun look all discolored and stuff. I'm awful at this picture taking thing. [sad]
