fivepak - nice collection. My next 1911 will be a Springfield TRP (hopefully).

This one is a Colt Series 70 Gov't Model that was heavily customized by Austin Behlert in the late 70s. This before you could buy compact 1911s from the factory so if you wanted one it had to be made from a full size gun. The barrel and slide were cut to 4", it has a screw in barrel bushing with custom spring plug and FLGR, S&W revolver sights, the frame cut and rewelded to 6 shot length (it's slightly shorter than an Officers frame), hooked/checkered trigger guard, finger rest added to bottom of the front strap, magazines cut and rewelded to match frame, MSH and grip safety resized to fit, action job, Armoloy hard chrome finish, and more. It has had pretty much everything done to it that Behlert offered.

Na not yet. I'm gonna have it re done at a later point mainly wanted to see if I liked the color before I put that much money in to it .
Dehorn the frame counter sunk the slide stop pin cause I have trouble pushing it out/pulling it out.
Smoothed out the mag well too.

I'm still debating bob tailing thins gun or buying another for summer ccw.

I yeah front bushing dehorn

Nothing special here. Just my Para P14 that I posted a few posts back. Before and after pics. I just like tinkering... eventually will strip it and have Business End Customs coat it for me.

Before: black/grey two tone and fixed sights
After: painted the frame and slide graphite with automotive paint/ smaller parts black, and added magwell and a sight Mark mini red dot

Damn, that is sick. I like it a lot.

Thanks... I know the paint wont hold up, but I get bored and like to tinker in the garage... It would look awesome with a Business End Customs sniper grey slide/frame and black parts.

I was forced to do the red dot because the front sight is so low (and is part of the slide - not an assembled on sight) that i could lower the rear sight enough to get it to shoot right (I mounted an adj. rear sight and couldnt get it low enough still). Next option was red dot.

Final pics with the grips on

That is a unique piece right there.

Just my P14-45 I purchased back in the early-mid 90's... Originally came with an alloy frame, but was showing wear after 5k-6k rounds, so I had it changed to a steel frame. All the proper extended safeties and releases for competition shooting are on it. Originally had a mag-well on it, but didn't get it installed on the steel frame. I did just look to see what Para is offering now... Very nice. Getting one is on my list now. I really like the ability to mount a light (or other accessory) on the frame. NOT an option when I bought my pistol, or got the replacement frame. :(

On, and I comfortably fit 15 in the magazines. They could hold 16 with the pads, but 15 feeds better. That extra round can make a big difference in competition shooting after all. [smile]
