- reps to the first who can give me the full name of the smith who tuned it :) ...no cheaters!

I use Glocks and love their simplicity and reliability. I also use 1911s, but for a different reason. I feel they are inherently accurate and when someone shoots better, confidence levels increase as such.
Their downside IMHO is they take more training to retain and deploy safely and effectively. Most people don't want to or can't train to the level required for a 1911. I feel that's why Glocks and their rivals are so popular. "Why bother with levers when all you need to do is practice your aim?" is what I was told once.

I once read "The appeal (of the 1911) is strong and romantic. Picking up the pistol feels like shaking hands with John Wayne." I couldn't agree more.

I love that. Who's hand would you be shaking holding a glock?

You should just be glad you still have your hand, and didn't loose it in a glock grenade accident.

Yes, and those roll pins retain the firing pin and it's housing. That's the only part that's really different than a 1911 on this little gun, that there's a small retaining block for the firing pin instead of the firing pin channel just being machined into the slide.

Also, the magazine safety is pretty nifty. When the mag is removed, the mag catch extends a little further out to the left side of the frame and blocks the trigger. Its easily defeated if you want to shoot it with no mag.

Love it! Scandium Alloy Frame, SS Frame, night sites, new drop-in trigger.
Compact 1911 is excellent for concealed carry. Two-tone finish, the Scandium frame is paired with a stainless slide. Shortened Officers size frame to aid in concealment but has a Commander length slide and barrel to increase reliability and sight radius.
