Plymouth, MA. Yes, that is correct! October 6 & 7

Could be a great show if some of the dealers we only see at shows like Wilmington show up in addition to the regular Springfield and Marlboro dealers are there. It will be nice to have a 1 hour round trip for a change!
Most likely not, this is the same promoter that hosts Marlboro, Springfield and Wilmington. We may get lucky and some small shops in the area will show up. Adam????????

If you're asking if Acme will be there? Answer = Maybe. We're not set up to work a show. Acme is 10 minutes from this show.
If you're asking if Acme is small? Answer = We have customers acrosss the globe. [wink]

I hope prices wont be higher than your usual gun show with the election and all looming. I am fancying a new .22. Perhaps a d/a revolver or a little tiny mouse gun

The Asshats of Plymouth al most likely cancel......its the right thing to do for the children.
I will go if I get a baby sitter. Most likely not. I would really need to see potential dealers that may be there. Might peak my interest a bit.

Most cancellations (and they are very rare) of shows by this promoter are due to dealers or attendees refusing to attend the show.

Foxboro was a small show (325 tables by using a shoe-horn) but it was the largest volume ($$ to dealer and promoter) show in E. MA (back then Springfield was a huge show, legitimately 600-700 tables and tons of attendees) and the dealers all wanted to attend that show. The venue got sold to Marge Clapprood and her 2nd Husband, Spinazolla . . . 1000% anti-gun folks and thus Carole was told "no more shows here". I recommended Marlboro to Carole and that one took off as the "premier" show in MA. Plymouth is an attempt to bring the show back to Southern MA and success or failure will be determined by $$ and people volume from the 1st couple of shows. No way they will cancel before even trying out the venue. Dealers who have been around since the Foxboro days are very likely to attend to see if it is a true reincarnation or not.

So you can expect the 1st show to go off without a hitch. Where it goes from there depends if they all make money or not. With the election a mere month after the show, I expect that the show will be a great success. That's my "I'm not a fortune teller" (I'm not licensed as one) prediction.

Out side of the sportsmen show rotating through bridgewater and holbrook gun clubs when was the last gun show in this area. Last thing remotely related to a gun show was at the holiday in on 24 many many many years ago.

I don't believe there are many real liberals in this state. If there where we would have a society of more freedoms open minded and of less governmental control. After all that is what a true liberal believes. No

Communist and socialist is still a scary words for a lot of people so relabel thosecbeliefs as liberal and you have something nicer.

I believe those running Plymouth will cancel the show once the complainers hear more of it.

I'm with Len. If they cancel, it will be because it's not profitable, not because of anti's. Plymouth is a green town with gun store, a Republican state rep, and very pro business Board of Selectmen. Plymouth is not Duxbury.

Even then, with surrounding towns like Carver, Middleboro, and the rest of that area of Massachusetts (which has some of the highest percentages in the state of LTC holders per capita of municipalities with more than 10,000 residents) should come through to make it a sucess.

It will defiantly be drawing Cape Cod folks and maybe the islands also.

FWIW, I believe Duxbury has more registered R's than D's. At least it used to. Norwell was the only other town in MA with more R's enrolled than D's. And I am really looking forward to this show.

The townspeople don't get a vote on whether or not a gun show can be held in their town.

I don't know who owns the property this show is going to be held on, but if it is privately owned the townspeople can do nothing (in any town) but wring their hands in anguish, write letters to the editor and picket the event.

If it is town run facility, a concerted effort to force the selectmen/town manager to cancel the contract would be required to kill the event. Possible but also possible to incur a costly legal battle (civil suit over breaking a contract) in court. But that is only if Rosenthal and his like-minded zombies attacked the town fathers in an effective way. [This was done in upstate NY and killed off one of Carole's shows. Also in CA IIRC and I think the county even won the court case.]

It may, but the limousine moon bats in Deluxebury are much more vocal. They're usually the ones ranting at any of the meetings pertaining to Pilgrim Nuclear.

Is that the one that they just had foreclosed?

I definitely want to go to this show. It's closer to me than Marlboro or Wilmington and I'm sure it will be larger than Holbrook.

?? It was Franco's when the gun shows were there. Frank was getting older and sold out to Marge, Spinazolla and I think Mike Intoccia.

I'm not aware of any foreclosure there, but economic times are such that some restaurants are closing up. I drove by there the other day on the way to/from BassPro, but didn't pay any attention to them (also it was before dinner and after lunch time so it might have been closed or slow due to time). We've eaten there twice since the change from Funway Café to Christina's . . . once it was great and the second time it was unpalatable (food), so we haven't gone back.

It was Christina's and it closed in June. There was an article somewhere on line about it because a number of people had booked weddings and had to scramble to find another venue. I think I ate there back when it was Funway and my kids were younger.

Enough thread drift, I'm marking my calendar.
