Full size Rock Island Armory 1911 .45 in an infinity belt slide holster, on a a 5'10 230lb guy. Definatly does not work as a summer carry but the other 9 months of the year it is fine. Who says fat guys can't CCW a full size 1911? (and yes it's condition 1)

I find that this is easier to carry and conceal than my P239 in Kydex.

i thought rock island handguns were non compliant

how the hell does that work? i can buy it ftf but not from an ffl? this state sucks.

Yup. Sure does.

Don't like it? Call your senator and representative and put a flea in their ears about supporting GOAL's gun law reform. Join GOAL, too.

Or stop complaining. WE can't do anything about it without YOUR help. And if my words offend you... GREAT. Use that righteous indignation to call your senator and representative and put a flea in their ears about supporting GOAL's gun law reform.

(Uncle Mike's leather holster)

I know the 92fs is a large pistol and not considered an ideal carry gun (plus I'm new to this and have no prior experience to speak from), but I'm wearing it right now and don't see any problem. It's perfectly comfortable at 2:00, even sitting, and with a zipped sweatshirt or light jacket over it, not noticeable. When the weather gets hot though and I don't want to wear a sweatshirt or jacket then yeah, it might be a problem.

Anyone wear a 92fs (or pistol of similar size) IWB, or is that absurd? I'm used to having a huge thing in my pants, but two of them, I dunno. [wink]

it can be done. like weedwhacker said, a good belt, and also a good IWB holster will be the trick (as well as dressing appropriately for what you are carrying)

i carried a full size M&P in a tshirt without an issue with an MTAC and a 5.11 instructor belt

I am going to take that advice and place the order. I have been debating thebeltman or someone else. Sounds like the beltman knows his stuff..

Any advice on getting a velcro or kydex insert. Been thinking velcro might be a nice option for concealment. If anyone ever ask what the hooks are for "my colostomy bag" end of story..

Get the velcro if you wish, but unless you tuck your shirt over your holster, no one will see anything. I almost always wear untucked shirts/sweatshirts/sweaters so I don't worry about anything on my belt.

In spring/winter/fall I'll throw on a sport coat over the gun if I am going out and need to dress up.

Do not get the kydex insert. I carry a 4" S&W N frame (44 Magnum) on my dual layer Beltman belt with no need for any stiffeners in the belt.

Wow...I don't know what some of you people would do if God took away all the pockets in the world..... [laugh]

I'd go nuts with all that ..stuff.. dangling off me.

One of my latest carry rigs: Tucker Gunleathers' Revolver Pancake for my N frames (shown with a 3" Model 29) and Simply Rugged's belt-splitting speedloader pouch with a Safariland Comp I loader full of Hornady 180 gr .44 Specials. Belt is my well broken in two layer bullhide strap from The Beltman.

You would be amazed at how comfortable and how concealable this rig is under a loose fitting polo, untucked shirt, or sport coat.

ETA: did I mention I am not a fan of plastic holsters?
