A NES'er with out a glock? I think I've seen just about everything now...
Was up at the indoor range last night with my brother from about 10:45pm - 1am. Had a great time. Brought my new S&W 686 and S&W M&P 15-22. Both extremely easy to shoot. The 686 might be my new favorite gun.
Going to be hitting the indoor range with a couple buddies around 1 tomorrow if anyone's around feel free to say hi...
Will be heading up to boston for the noon demostration and leaving the indoor range about 11:00 sat (showing up at 10:00 to get some range time in first). I have room for 2 more people in my car at this monment (warning it is a small car (chevy aveo) but even I fit in the back seat and I am 6'3". Anyone who wants a lift or wants to convoy up, see you there then.
If this was on Friday I would maybe be able to join you but unfortunately I'll be at work until 4:30 tomorrow. Boo!
Any chance we get the BOD to get a shoot together $5 pr $10/ person and make donation to GOAL or COMM2A? I am not able to go to the rally today, but have already donated myself, but with the size of TRPC we could get a significant donation if a shoot was organized.

I have been shooting for 26 years, but since moving back to eastern Mass three years ago for work I have not belonged to a range. I would like to join the Taunton Rifle and Pistol Club, but when reading the application I noticed the member sponsor . The problem is that I do not no anyone personally who is a member. Will my application be denied if I leave this blank. I also have my paper work in for lifetime membership in thanks to Jasons.

That said, you do not need a sponsor. As long as you have some sort of FID/LTC you will be good. For the dozen some odd meeting I have been to, probably half of the names had no sponsor.
Thanks for the info, and sorry about asking a repeat question. i scanned thru the first few pages and then skipped to the last few and didn't see any post about this. I just thought it would be less intrusive to ask here than bothering people at the range with questions.

Not really sure... Are you a goal member? They are a cmp organization... And certainly a worthwhile cause!
I belive that they are, but I also remember a section on the CMP site that has 'affiliated clubs'. I am pretty sure that TRPC was on there. I know that they have a list of all the clubs so I would look at that (its probably a hot key in the FAQ section)
TRPC is an affiliated club. You have to ask the president, Eric, for a letter with TRPC letterhead. Then you can send that in with the rest of your paper work.

Friday evenings after 7PM, there's usually a group there to shoot the bull; if you knock, someone will almost certainly let you in and answer basic questions.
Tuesday evenings between 7 and 9PM, there's the Twin County Pistol League shoot; at least one of our 3 teams is always shooting there on Tuesdays. There will be several people available to answer questions and show you the facilities.
The monthly meeting is this Sunday morning; if you show up, most of the E-board and several range officers will be there to help.

Anybody ever shoot archery at Taunton? I think they used to have a setup at the outdoor range, but I never saw it and don't know if it's still over there. Thinking about dusting off the old recurve and giving it a shot again, but don't know if Taunton still offers it. Would be great if they had an indoor setup or a covered outdoor setup.
They do, it is off to the side of the skeet/trap area but it will need some attention to get it up and running. I was with Vipprimo and he asked for his wife back in November for a clean up party can't remember the member that showed us the area though

The archery/black powder range still exists. It sits in the trap area, so if the trap range is being used, the archery range is closed.
Yup, the guy that showed us around was the guy that actually runs archery. He was having some back issues and I volunteered to assist him. He emailed me once and said thanks for the offer and haven't heard from him since.
I would like to get some archery going on over there. I would suggest showing up to meeting of the board to suggest it. I work weekends so I can't really get out to them.
Ah gotcha. I haven't been over on that side - haven't shot trap there before so have never ventured over there. They should set something up to the right of the wide 100 yard range. It seems like it would be a good little spot for it that wouldn't be closed down if trap was in session.
