Does this mean that we can use high cap mag’s with these pre 8/1’s? If all this reasoning is true, why not? I could be missing something. ‘94 is wiped out, ‘98, wiped out, 7/20 gone, maybe we can.
There’s no restrictions now or in the new law about what guns you can use what mag in. Preban mags can go in anything. FID people are a separate issue.

It's not a straw purchase. It's a normal purchase, then later he's gifting it to a fellow duly-vetted LTC holder. If he's squeamish about that, he can sell it to her for a dollar or whatever. Or, like others have said, she can borrow it.
There are a million ways to skin this cat. @Brandonlee333 is trying to do a decent and pragmatic thing. There's no reason to toss cold water on him.

Question on training that is unclear to me. My son wants his LTC. Will current training programs still be accepted after 08/01 until the law takes effect on Oct 23 (?) or will he need to take the new program that is to be developed by MSP, which we know has not been funded and will most likely never happen
Can you get him into a class this week, prior to August? That's what I'd try to do.
