Trail camera thread. Post ur trail camera photos.

In 4 years of using a camera, I have only 2 videos of a Fisher Cat, both at night.

I did see one during the day once, and they can climb a tree faster than you could imagine.

Couple of deer moving around, snow is still pretty deep. First one looks pretty healthy though?

The date time on this is wrong. It was actually 3/18/2015 at ~ 0900. But this is all I have on this cam for the last 5 weeks.

I finally tried mine out and got a lot of squirrels, rabbits, and our chickens. After reading the reviews on LL Bean about the flaws with this camera in complete darkness I was surprised the camera actually did a good job.
I've since moved the camera out behind our house in Maine and I expect I'll be getting some good pictures up there.

I use purina mills antler max pellets which are designed for deer. They seem to like it...It took them a while to be comfortable eating out of the feeder but its working now!

They were probably like what the hell is this thing hanging here. Sure smells good whatever it is, let's take a look [smile]

How many pounds of pellets can it hold?

Looks like a nice idea for a feeder. How about construction details or a close up photo? I'd like to make one

Parts list: 4" wye,
4" cap,
4" shower drain,
4-5ft of 4" pipe(whatever length you want),
Three 1"(3/4", even 1/2" would work) 1/4 20 eye bolts, washers and nuts...used for making the cap easier to pull off and to use as ratchet strap attachment points.
300 micron mesh filter cut to fit over shower drain and 1/2" over lip so it gets sandwiched in place...you can also use a piece of screen, or nothing at all as long as the feed is larger then the shower
drain holes.

I'm sure most of the construction is pretty straight forward as far as gluing the pieces together just look at the photos (I will update with photos when I get home)
I drilled two holes in the each side of the storage pipe in the middle of the whole assembly to attach two of the eye bolts
I drilled one hole in the top/center of the cap and attached the 3rd eye bolt
For the bottom/wye section...you may have to do some trimming of the edges of the shower drain so that it fits into the bottom of the wye. Before you put the shower drain in I put the mesh screen on top of the shower drain and then put the shower drain in so the mesh is between the shower drain and the wye. This makes it so that if any water gets into the feeding hole it will easily drain out while keeping the food in(shower drain holes are bigger then the feed pellet size I use) and dry.
Paint however you want.

Got my first trail cam, a Browning Dark-Ops up. Put it up 4/15 in a nice clearing with active trails I found abutted some swap/marsh area I have. The following week I planted 3 micro food plots, put in a starter mineral lick and moved the camera to over look the lick. I hope this is clearly the beginning of good things to come...and yes, I've adjusted the camera further.

So I readjusted the camera. I'm fairly confident in my ability to recognize animals, but what came through after the deer? It's kind of a creepy shape. My wife's best guess is coyote/fox hybrid - for one large unusual looking animal has been seen around these parts. I'm leaning on bobcat/lynx with lack of a tail. Thoughts.
