What did you do in the reloading room recently?

Restock day
55gn 223
147gn 308
Blems - looks like the only blemish is they aren't shiny
5k each SPP and SRP

Offbrand primers but for 0.04/ea and 0.048/ea it's worth trying.
That's a hell of a deal on the primers. Keep us posted.

It was a nice day to spend some time at the long range, and I just got the day's brass deprimed. I recently picked up a second FA hand deprimer so I so I was able to work on .223, 6.5, and .30-06 without having to swap out any parts. (It's very easy to swap collets on these, but it was worth $35 to abe to deprime different sizes without changeover!)

Don't know whether to smile or cry. Moving some things around in the garage and found another bucket of clean, bagged .223/5.56 brass along with several baggies of "sorted by weight" .308 projectiles, a plastic instant coffee jar full of 9mm lead reloads.
I'm trying to finish up loading .223/5.56 and keep finding more brass. [laugh]

Loaded a few rounds of 308 with Varget and a 150 grain fmjbt. I have some TAC and some A2520 loaded as well. I'll try them all tomorrow and see if the M1A likes any of them.
Varget runs well in my M1a . I will be loading up 308 for the last cmp match of the year , CMP finally made 308 M1 garands legal for as issued matxhes.

Loaded a few rounds with both standard and magnum primers to see if there's a difference in accuracy and found something odd. Some of the cases are crimped and some are not. All have the same headstamp. FC 308 Win. I thought maybe some was military but I don't think military would say 308 Win. Anyone know why?

My guess is standard head stamped brass ran on the same machine that crimps the primers.

I have not been loading much of anything for some time.
I have been burning up the 50 plus year old surplus 30-06 and almost as old M193 at local cmp matches.

Loaded up enough for next match
For 308 M1 garand and the M1a
Lapua brass
FGMM peimer
42.5 gn Varget
Nosler CC 158 gn bullet
Hopefully my eyes and booker hook are in sync come next sunday

Cleaned some .50 BMG brass in the Dillon tumbler for 6 hours with some Nu Finish, getting ready to load about 150 pieces in the coming week.
Will (NOT)be weighing out some 215gr powder charges and placing them in .35mm film cannisters today.....see below post.

The hidden finds just keep getting better and better. [party]
I had some boxes stacked up in my garage with a wooden crate that I made about 6 years ago on the bottom of the pile. I got curious and moved those boxes, wondering what I had put in that crate......sorry...I forgot!!
Well, to my surprise I discovered a full, unopened jug of Bullseye powder, a full unopened jug of WC-844 powder, a full jug of HPC-18 and a pound each of Power Pistol, HS-7 and Accurate No. 7. Also in that crate was a Winchester 5000 count primer box with 45 already weighed out 35mm film cannisters of IMR-5010 powder.
My powder needs for winter reloading have now been fulfilled, [bow][bow] for ten minutes work moving a few boxes.

Made up a small batch using 4gr of bullseye vs the usual 5gr. The crimp pushed the bullet in another .04 so ill have to get that resolved, but everything functioned fine considering how soft shooting it was.

Bathroom remodel is DONE !! Building inspector signed off an hour ago !! No more people trapsing through the house all day !!! Proceeding to the task of uncovering all the equipment and supplies !! Maybe I'll even make it to the range next week !!!!

Planning to stop at 2900.

I finished that up a few days ago. But then I remembered that I'm down to 100 rounds of 45 Colt. I don't need that much 45 Colt, but obviously I need to load some. So I did 250 over the last couple of days. I only have strong guns in 45 Colt, so I load a 300 grain Hi Tek TCFP over Shooter's World Auto Pistol to about 22K psi, basically a light 45-70. I have to say that it was an absolute joy NOT to be working with N110 at the powder drop. N110 performs well, but I hate working with it. At one point I thought I might let the RCBS Chargemaster drop the charges so I wouldn't have to deal with the hitches when cutting sticks and whatnot in my powder drop, but that would have taken forever. If I just power through any hitches, I tend to get up to +0.3 grains or more in that drop. Worse if I don't actually finish that drop and try again. So to adapt to the powder in my powder drop, if I feel the resistance like that, whether I power through the drop or not, the next charge just gets dumped back in the hopper. The process repeats until I get a smooth drop. Even then it's like + or - 0.1 grain when I check the weight. I have tried the plastic Lee powder drop, but while it assured me of smooth drops every time, it also was + or - 0.1 grain when checked, maybe worse. I don't actually think that 0.1 grain matters, TBH. The crimp is more consequential, since it can affect how much of the powder is actually burnt and how quickly.
