What did you do with your old grip and latch? I'm not looking for pretty so much. What does this latch, um, latch?

Going to a friend for one of his builds.

The tactical latch goes on the charging handle, it extends out on the left side of the rifle and makes it easier to do quick charging.

Interesting. Mostly because it says you're from Texas, and I was expecting California. Why did you decide to go with that stock setup?

I used to live in CA for a couple years where I got a first-hand schooling in their gun laws. Moved back home to TX last spring and started up Exile Machine LLC at the end of the summer. I'm the President/CEO, & Head Cat Juggler. This unit shown is a CNC milled prototype, nearly identical to our production units except I faked the anodizing with a rattle can of grey automotive primer to save on prototyping costs.

The one pictured earlier in the thread's not a fully CA legal config due to the telescoping stock and the evil A2 birdcage flash hider. Our website has lots more photos of the production units, including some shouldered up shots. We do sell to the free states as well as CA, as the product does have some benefits aside from meeting CA law. In no particular order, it soaks up recoil (the aluminum product weighs 14oz), it positions the stock in a much more comfortable position (head more erect, less neck strain crouching down to look through the sights), a more comfortable hold on the rifle (like a wooden rifle), reduced muzzle climb and faster target reacquisition due to a shortened moment arm. For prone shooting (competitive and MIL/LEO sniper) with a short (5 or 10rd) mag it sits about 2 inches closer to the ground. It also has a badass look that can only come from using a pistol buffer tube on a rifle.

I may be biased but I actually prefer the feel of the Hammerhead so I keep it installed even though I'm in TX and could mount a fully automatic laser-tipped depleted uranium heat seeking kitten killer to the bayo lug if I liked. Show of solidarity with my brothers in arms back in CA as well.

This is how I currently have mine setup. It's fully CA-legal, fixed ACE stock and a YHM brake instead of a flash hider:

Kalahari, I'm in Flower Mound up north of the airport. Let me know if you want to meet up at a range to try it out. I try to hit the Texas Gun Talk range days as much as possible over at Elm Fork Range. We've got some other CA compliance products in the pipeline that I'll be test-firing later this month or early next. I like to get as many people to beat up the prototypes as possible before we go to production.

I would definitely love to give it a whirl. I'll look into the TGT shoots and see if I can hit one up before the summer comes around.
