Sanity check; AR pistols basically always failed the test because pistols had a weight limit of 50oz, so the only legal thing you could do was like a braced glock or a flux. has anything changed that makes AR pistols legal now, or are we all just happy that we can unpin our stocks, and we still need big long barrels to keep maura happy?

I've said, others have said it, her/their goal is to reduce/eliminate new generations of gun owners and reduce/eliminate gun shops. Current gun owners don't matter, we'll die eventually, they just do not want new ones created. These new laws will eventually accomplish all of this if they stand.

EFFECTIVE DATE: The date the newly signed legislation takes effect. Unless signed with an Emergency Preamble, the new Act takes effect 90 days after the Governor signs the Bill

You have an AR lower that was legally possessed on 8/1 in the state of Massachusetts? You can take it to the range right now as a pistol. It can weigh 30 ounces or 300 ounces. And that brace better be folding and/or telescoping. Throw a bayonet on there while your at it.

The law was slated to not be active for another year. sorry it got bumped up and suddenly we all needed a refresher on what's legal today.

Mid level gun distributors get rapey. In a cruel sense of irony, buyers groups help keep them in check, by virtue of their customers exerting pressure on them so they can better compete with boxlike stores like DTE/FS. 🤣.

I don't think its a reason to "f them", Its just how FS is able to provide great prices, great prices = large sale volume.
Consumer gets a deal and is happy, FS has a happy customer and they make money.
If it was not for the damn lines there, its a win win.

Its been a bit since i have been there, but it was always a good experience. Nothing worse than having a pocket of bills you want to spend and the guy behind the counter seems annoyed you took him away from a TV.

Originally I was in the “unintended consequences” boat. But specifically if you read the original bill, the 8/1 language wasn’t in there at all. It was absolutely purposely added. So they call these laws “Christmas tree” or “ornament laws”. Basically, it’s 120 pages of bullshit and not every lawmaker is on board. And obviously it’s going to pass, but maybe a pro gun lawmaker is willing to give a concession to a future law that is also coming down the pipe that might not pass without his vote. He’ll make a deal “hey, we all know that the current LTC holders don’t commit gun crimes. Put in a provision that makes them happy and I’ll agree to pass your other law and f*** over all future gun owners.” This was INTENDED

From what I’ve heard Carl was also a leading proponent to block internet ammo sales from happening in MA. Purely selfish endeavor to keep ammo sales high at his store. I get it, but still a crappy thing to do to your customers.
