Emergency Preamble to be signed Weds?

The state would be foolish to do so, because an entrapment by estoppel defense would almost certainly work. No competent DA/ADA would prosecute the case as it would present a high risk of staining their win/loss record.
So, you are saying that Norfolk County DA's office would prosecute? [devil2][devil]

Unanswered questions:

- Will the new registration system be initially populated with data from MIRCS [e]FA-10 database?
- If so, will users have a chance to de-register guns they no longer have?
- Will the local PD get alerts of registrations, and will people with a plethora of AWs be investigated for that lawful activity?

A deer hunting group I belong to all the fudds are calling trying to register their muzzle loaders and they are all worried because they can't. Bunch of idiots
I'm in several hunting groups on Facebook that are full of fudds that are either a) just finding out about this now, or b) refusing to believe they can no longer possess their semi-auto duck shotgun with an FID.

So with
The problem as I see it is they make it up as they go. That makes it impossible to know what is safe and what isn’t.

That is the intended result. It worked so well for them with the fake AWB ban what's her face passed by issuing a memo. Why wouldn't it work NOW?

And it is.

My boss is in denial too, his wife is a lawyer and they know the attorney general. Supposedly they don't even know the law...they're claiming fid holders have a magical grace period to get an ltc...complete bs

PD already can see anything you've FA10'd
Currently, that takes "work" on the part of the officers. Not something that they are willing to do for a witchhunt.

I once told Michaela Dunne (when she was the FRB Director) that my chief would have a stroke if he ever knew how many guns I owned (each renewal he asked and I refused). I told her that he was too lazy to look it up. [rofl]

Isn't one of the fun parts of the fa-10 system is your "inventory" is any firearm you have owned and never gets reduced because you no longer own something?

If you have something that is now an AW, but was not previously and you question the legality of it, would being forced to register it violate your 5th amendment right?

Ok, so way too much to read in this thread. Looks like the Governor signed whatever and the law is now in effect today.

TLDR:
Is everything that is currently in possession legal? Evil killy AWB features are no longer a "thing" so we can stop with the pinned adjustable stocks and no flash supressors? We're supposed to register everything we currently own, but the registration portal doesn't currently exist?

I don't know how to feel about not having to worry about the AWB bullshit in MA while at the same time knowing the 2nd Amendment and gun rights have been shit on for everyone after 10/2/2024 in this state... it's like someone made me a peanut butter and banana sandwich and used a rotten banana. I so want to take a bite, but damn that banana tastes like ass.

When laws become impossible to understand, making it impossible to follow them, then everyone becomes a criminal.

Rejoice, and revel in your new 'gangsta' status!

How many people purchased a post 7/20/16 AR rifle and possessed it on 8/1?
from her perspective all those are illegal items that could NOT be legally possesed, as they were apriori - illegal.
but we can think otherwise, and i personally prefer not to think at all.

The real life sad thing here is that I was talking with a couple of Cape Cod Gun Work employees at the store a couple weeks ago. They were stating that with the perceived loss of revenue for the store the owners are not sure they'll be able to keep the store open. That would be a real shame as they are basically one of the very few Gun Stores on the Cape.

Then again, I'm betting many gun stores in MA are in the same boat.
